He lost his testimony… and then found it again.

In this episode, Trevor Schoeny shares his deeply personal journey as an active Latter-day Saint navigating faith, identity, and being gay.

He opens up about:

– losing and rebuilding his testimony
– coming out to his parents
– what it means to follow Christ when life feels complicated

This isn’t a debate. It’s a story about faith, honesty, and holding on to God in the middle of it all.

ā€œMormons worship Joseph Smith.ā€

No—we worship Jesus Christ.

Our newest episode responds to a common misunderstanding about what Latter-day Saints actually believe and why accurate representation matters in faith conversations.

Why Focus on Leaving Instead of Leading People to Christ?

We discuss why people who leave the LDS church often focus on discouraging others from attending rather than inviting them to where they’ve found God. We explore the idea that if you still believe in Jesus but chose a different path, shouldn’t you be sharing where you found spiritual fulfillment instead of just criticizing what you left behind? We also talk about how opposition and contention can actually be a sign that you’re doing something right, because Satan works to undermine what’s working.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who love deeply, sacrifice quietly, and hold families together through faith, strength, and grace.

A mother’s love reflects the love of Christ—patient, selfless, and enduring.

Thank you for the prayers nobody heard, the tears nobody saw, and the strength nobody realized you carried.

Today we celebrate you. 🌷

POV: When Christians think you’re part of a cult… but you don’t smoke or drink.

There’s a common misconception that worship Joseph Smith or follow a false prophet.

That’s not who we are.

We don’t worship Joseph Smith we worship Jesus Christ.

And in the words of :

ā€œJesus is the King, and He’s alive
Hallelujah, Jesus is alive
I looked at the grave, and the stone was rolled aside
As for me and my house, we will serve the Christ
And sing, ā€˜Hallelujah, Jesus is aliveā€™ā€

At the center of our faith is not a man but the living Christ.

I was seconds away from walking away.

Not because I didn’t believe…
but because the weight of what I was feeling was too much to carry in that moment.

Total despair.
Heavy. Quiet. Unshakable.

I remember thinking, ā€œI just need to get out of here.ā€

And then—something unexpected happened.

The words of Enos came into my mind:

ā€œI, Enos, will tell you somewhat of the wrestle which I had before Godā€¦ā€

And in that moment, I realized something powerful:

Maybe this wasn’t the end of my faith…
Maybe this was the beginning of my wrestle with God.

Because sometimes the darkest moments aren’t where faith dies…
they’re where it finally gets real.

Have you ever had a moment like that?

I didn’t grow up with a parenting handbook…
I grew up learning as I went.

Now as a father, I’ve made a decision:
Every moment at home is a learning experience.

Every conversation with my boys.
Every challenge with my wife.
Every mistake.

I didn’t have everything growing up in a single-mother household —
but I learned from what I missed.

And now?
My mission is simple:

Give my boys what I didn’t have — and teach them how to learn from everything life brings.

Because parenting isn’t about perfection.
It’s about growth.

What’s one lesson parenting has taught you?
