Swallows. Sand Martins. House Martins. Swifts. I’ve had a go at this for you guys! Lots of requests for these birds and rightly so. I don’t have much footage of them and what I have is pretty erratic as they’re not easy to film! But I really hope this helps you identify them more easily. I’ve also added their calls in the background too. Let me know which you’ve been seeing darting about overhead! 🪽

I can not get enough of these little fluff balls. And they won’t look like this for long so I’m making the most of it! 🥰 Have you had fledglings visit your garden yet? Or have you seen them out and about on a walk? They’re brilliant to observe as they learn the ways of the outdoors! ☺️ For anyone concerned with birds feeding from feeders instead of natural sources in the wild, it’s all good. Garden bird food compliments the rest of their diet. Baby Blue T**s needs caterpillars and will each be fed around 100 times in a day. This is all just bonus. 🐥

How cool is this?! And how cool are Curlews with the curvy beaks and brilliant songs and calls. 🤩 Europe’s largest wading bird. Sadly, something I don’t mention in the video is that they are a species under threat. How often do we have to say that about a bird. 😔 But I’d love to know if you’ve seen one near you and if so where? Or if you’ve never seen them at all. Let me know in the comments. 🐦😍

What a special moment down at RSPB Ham Wall watching the Great Crested Grebes going back and forth to the little chicks with freshly caught fish! Look at the size of them! 🐟 They are one of our prettiest water birds and they’re looking their finest as they head into Summer. Who else loves a Great Crested Grebe? 😍

Starlings then ay?! Where is everyone at with them? Is the garden quietening down yet? 😄 You gotta love em. I hope this sheds a little light on them. Something else I should mention is that if you’re not getting any smalller birds in the garden, once Starlings find your food, they’ll tell everyone! 😄 They’re such clever little birds and I love to watch them. A Robin’s song AND CALLS! 🎶 This one’s an easy one. But how many of you knew the calls too? Definitely worth knowing especially as it gives you an opportunity to see what might be spooking the Robin. 👀 I hope this helps. Little Owls! 🦉 Cute little grumpy lookin things! And a bird of prey of course! Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever seen or heard one. I think their call is kinda like a cat disappointed with its dinner. 😆 It’s worth learning their call in case you hear one when you’re out and you can try to spot it. Good luck though. They are little. Obv. And very camouflaged. This one didn’t mind me admiring him from afar. 🦉
