Had a little time today so got out to seek some radio contacts from Gifford Pinchot park. Contacts made to NC (several), MA, and IN. A bit cold, but nice to get fresh air!

First successful POTA hunt.... not a challenging thing but a good first test of the system.

Built a portable station for local and long contacts. Easier to store and set up. Will be building a support rack too with batteries, manuals, and antennas.

The original k**b on this G90 was small so I printed a larger one. I love the thingiverse community. If any of my friends need a larger k**b too, I printed a spare.

JS8 is the first digital mode I've used. Found a like minded group looking to establish comms guidelines for a loss of grid scenario. If you even just have a shortwave receiver you can check out the mode and receive messages by hooking up to your computers. No internet required, other than for initial download.
