Would you trust me if I didn’t show up? I don’t just talk about social media—I do it. I show up, I post, I engage, because trust is built through visibility. (I know- I could be doing more stories....)

And here’s the kicker… Most of my business doesn’t even come from social media. My marketing is old-school—networking, referrals, real-world conversations. But I’m still here, because I know that if I expect my clients to be consistent, I have to do the same here (as well as with other methods).

If you want people to believe in you, they need to see you. If you want them to trust you, they need to hear from you. You don’t have to post every day, but you do have to be present enough that when they need what you offer, you’re top of mind.

The hardest part of posting videos? The first one. After that, it gets easier—trust me. Ever watch someone’s stories or reels and think, "I could never do that"? Spoiler alert: They probably thought the same thing before they started.

The secret to getting comfortable on video? Momentum. The more you show up, the easier it gets. Your audience doesn’t need perfection—they just want to connect with you.

So here’s your challenge: Post a quick story today. No overthinking, no filters, just a simple “I'm on my way to..."

You know that moment when someone randomly asks, "So, what do you do?" and you just… answer? No script. No overthinking. You just say it.

That happened to me today. And after I explained my biz, they immediately launched into their own story about struggling to get their IT business more exposure. Boom—now we’ve got a coffee chat scheduled. ☕

Here’s the thing: If you can explain what you do in real life, you can do it on video. It’s literally the same thing. The only difference? Instead of one person in front of you, you’ve got a camera and access to thousands.

So stop overcomplicating it. The next time you’re about to record, pretend you’re just chatting with someone who genuinely wants to know what you do. That’s all a great video is—you, sharing your expertise, just like you would in person.

You’ve been overthinking your first video for long enough. Here’s the easy fix. When you’re making your first face-to-camera video, the worst thing you can do is try to reinvent the wheel and learn all the tech at the same time.

I tell my clients to stick with what’s already familiar—your pitch.
You’ve probably said it a hundred times already at networking events, in emails, or to curious strangers.

Use that for your first video. Keep the message simple, because learning the buttons, recording multiple takes, and fumbling over your words is too much - but made easier when the content isn’t brand new.

✨ Familiar message + new skill = confidence boost. Because getting started shouldn’t feel impossible.
