Yesterday, leadership students took advantage of the pleasant weather and went on a fall walk at the Old Mill Pond. The day was particularly beautiful, allowing us to take some outstanding photos.

Rest On Hope-
Can you imagine having a bedtime without a bed?!? Sleeping in a chair, on a couch, curled up on the floor, or curled up on a nest of clothes is a reality for so many children right here in our community. Children that don’t have beds are struggling in school, struggling to focus, emotional issues, increased level of depression and anxiety.. and the list goes on! Think of a night that you did not sleep well… I bet you woke up tired, frustrated, and probably pretty unhappy. Kids without beds feel that EVERY day, and they soon get labeled as the “behavior problem.” The reality is it is really difficult to create change in your life if you don’t have the essentials. Bedtime without a bed isn’t just unhealthy for your body, but it’s unhealthy for your soul. Today we delivered beds and brand new bedding to families right here in our community, but we need your help to continue this. Donating money towards a mattress, donating used in great condition mattresses, donating bed frames, and volunteering to deliver and set up these beds alongside us are just a few ways YOU can make a difference. Sleep is a basic human need that so many children are lacking, but luckily YOU can help make a difference for even just one.

Today, Leadership students participated in a culinary experience, preparing tacos with seasoning from scratch, homemade pico de gallo, rice, beans, and of course banana pudding. Valuable life skills were gained, and delicious food was had.
