NEW EPISODE ALERT 🎙️✨

This week on Small Business Bestie, I got to sit down with a REAL bestie — the incredible Carrie Gabrielson of Soul on Main 💛

And honestly? This episode is SUCH a beautiful reminder that sometimes the dream finds YOU.

Carrie shares the behind-the-scenes story of:
✨ Going from stay-at-home mom + micro-catering business owner…
✨ To renovating a historic downtown Nicholasville building…
✨ To opening one of the most talked-about restaurants in the area.

We talk about:
🍽️ Building a restaurant from scratch
🛠️ The stress and reality of construction & entrepreneurship
📱 Using social media in a way that actually feels HUMAN
💛 Hospitality as an art form
🌱 Supporting local farms & Kentucky vendors
🥂 Creating community through food and atmosphere
✨ And why one-top diners deserve VIP treatment too

One of my favorite moments was hearing Carrie talk about how every guest who walks through their doors is choosing THEM out of thousands of options — and how seriously they take that honor. You can feel the heart behind this business in every part of their story.

Also… fair warning: this episode WILL make you hungry. 😂

If you’ve ever dreamed of opening a business, reinventing your life, creating something meaningful with your partner, or building a brand rooted in authenticity and connection… this episode is for you.

NEW EPISODE ALERT 🎙️✨

This week on Small Business Bestie, I sat down with the incredible Rabiya Syed — marketing expert, educator, model, community leader, and honestly… one of the coolest humans in Lexington. 💛

And WOW did this conversation deliver.

We talked about:
✨ Personal branding that actually feels authentic
✨ The overlap between business identity and personal identity
✨ Teaching marketing & PR at the University of Kentucky
✨ Working with both national retailers AND local businesses at Fayette Mall
✨ Community involvement, women’s leadership, and mentorship
✨ Modeling, pageantry, confidence, and self-growth
✨ Why today’s young women are seriously impressive
✨ And of course… our dream walkout songs 🎶😂

One of my favorite parts of this conversation was hearing Rabiya talk about how branding isn’t just logos and colors — it’s how you show up in the world, how you communicate during hard moments, and how you build trust with your community.

This episode feels empowering, inspiring, and honestly just FUN. The kind of conversation that reminds you that you don’t have to fit yourself into one tiny box to be successful. You can be ambitious, creative, polished, thoughtful, community-minded, and evolving all at the same time. 💫

If you’re a woman building a business, finding your voice, navigating visibility, or trying to grow into the next version of yourself… this episode is for you.

NEW EPISODE ALERT 🎙️✨

This week on Small Business Bestie, I sat down with one of the most fascinating humans I’ve met in Lexington — Chip Sebastian. And let me tell you… this conversation goes EVERYWHERE in the best possible way. 😂

We talked about:
🕺 Dancing with the Lexington Stars
🥋 Real self-defense training for women
✍️ Writing, publishing, and creative life
🎭 Theater, film, martial arts, massage therapy & entrepreneurship
💭 The commercialization of wellness culture
💡 What it really means to dedicate your life to a craft

Chip is truly a Renaissance man, and this episode is packed with stories, wisdom, laughs, and a whole lot of heart. One minute we’re talking about poetry and Philip Glass… the next we’re discussing why women deserve self-defense training that actually prepares them for real life situations.

Honestly? This one feels less like an interview and more like sitting in on a really good conversation between friends. And those are my favorite kinds of episodes. 💛

If you’ve ever:
✨ reinvented yourself
✨ pursued multiple passions
✨ wanted to feel more confident in your body
✨ or wondered how to build a meaningful life doing what you love…

…you’re going to LOVE this episode.

"Collaboration Over Competition"
How many times have we heard that, or said it ourselves? Sometimes, it's easier said than done... especially when you are in the midst of a "competition".

I've had some amazing experiences so far in the Dancing with the Lexington Stars journey, but getting to know Keary Elizabeth is my favorite part, hands down!!! And, that's saying a lot because I really like dancing.

So.... there are 5 in person opportunities for you to come out and support KEARY & MICHELLE. We have decided to really lean into the thing we all say, and lead by example. All of these fun events are going to benefit both of us as we race (and dance) towards the finish line. We have both set VERY high fundraising goals because we deeply believe in the missions of Rotary Club's Chartiable Giving Fund & Baby Health Service.

We go farther together, so we are joining forces, and collaborating for the remainder of the competition. Because rising tides raise all ships!

Please, join us on this crazy adventure and support us by showing up, or donating today! Links to events in comments!

Have you ever felt like a fraud in spite of your accomplishments? I recently chatted with Hunter Lisle about turning anxiety into authentic connections. 💃

Do you know someone who could gain from this insight? Give them a tag!

That persistent self-doubt about your abilities? It tends to hang around longer than you might imagine. Even with a wealth of experience, imposter syndrome can rear its head. Yet, we can learn to accept the discomfort and support each other on our individual paths!

Remember, a bit of humor can ease the tension. If you trip up, just take a moment to acknowledge it and then keep pushing ahead!

It’s all about creating bonds and nurturing a community. At the Arthur Murray Lexington studio, lives are enriched, one dance step at a time, thanks to the incredible people involved.

Perhaps the most important lesson is that you’re never truly on your own in this journey.

This episode felt like sitting around a table with women who actually tell the truth. 💛

In the latest Small Business Bestie podcast episode, I’m joined by Kim and Sherry for a powerful conversation about:

how sisterhood shapes our confidence

why mindset matters more than perfection

finding purpose at any stage of life

and what happens when women stop competing and start collaborating

We also talk about building community — online and in real life — and why support from other women isn’t optional if you want to grow.

If you’ve been craving deeper connection, clarity, or just a reminder that you’re not alone… this one’s for you.
