Throwback/ thotful Thursday this week is about reflecting on my burlesque journey. One of the first things a new performer does is come up with a stage name and persona. Hence, Nikki Nightmare was born. Since that first performance that persona has allowed me to explore storytelling and art in a way never thought possible. I've also been incredibly lucky to be a representation of plus size performance. Because representation matters!

I'm still shocked by the 4th pic because it shows a chair trick that I practiced for weeks with countless bruises and I can't believe that I pulled it off on stage! That's not something I've seen very often by performers that look like me. So, y'all please keep practicing and remember that just because you don't see it often or at all that doesn't mean you can't.
