Feeling blessed today. Nothing fancy, just the whole family working together and getting honey bottled up. Sawyer filling jars, Tate and Lainey putting stickers on lids, Amber labeling, and me finishing them off. Thankful for days like this and the people beside me. It’s a family affair around here.

Took Tate to the bee yard for the first time. Suit was way too big, but I’ll take him wanting to see more as a good sign.

He’s four, he’s wearing his big brother Sawyer’s bee suit, and this is him introducing himself as the newest Sheppard Swarms beekeeper.

Took Lainey back out to the beeyard yesterday to look for the queen. We found her — first queen Lainey’s ever seen in her life. Right after that, she got stung on the forehead.
Didn’t cry. Didn’t quit. Just explained to me exactly what happened and kept going.
Six years old and tougher than most. 🐝

Took Lainey to the beeyard for the first time today. Suited her up, handed her a frame full of fresh nectar, and she held it like a pro. She’s six. Asked a hundred questions. Loved every second of it.

Added this plastic foundation two weeks ago and they already have one side completely capped and the other side is not far from it.

I tried to mark her, hoping it would help me find her. But if they've cleaned it off, I have no idea where she could be.
