🏀 Wellen Park High School Eagles Make History! 🦅
We are beyond excited to announce Jamar Butler as the first-ever Boys Basketball Head Coach for the Wellen Park High School Eagles!
Jamar’s basketball journey is legendary: a graduate of Shawnee High School in Lima, Ohio, he was a 3-time Player of the Year, 2004 Mr. Ohio Basketball, and an All-American. He went on to play at The Ohio State University, where he was a 4-year starter, ranking in the top 10 in 3-pointers made, free throw percentage, and most wins. He earned First Team All-Big Ten honors in 2008, won two Big Ten Tournament Championships, and helped lead the Buckeyes to the 2007 National Championship game, finishing as National Runner-Up. He was also a key player in OSU’s 2008 NIT Championship.
After college, Jamar played professionally in Italy, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Bosnia, and Puerto Rico. His love for the game led him into coaching, where he brings 6 years of high school coaching experience and 10 years of personal training expertise.
Coach Butler is ready to lead our Eagles with passion, skill, and dedication. Please join us in welcoming him to Wellen Park High School!

The Division I regional final between Elder and St. Xavier will be moved to Paycor Stadium. Nearly 7,000 tickets were originally sold, and local officials pushed for the game to be relocated to the home of the Bengals.
