Good morning! I just wanted to let everyone know that Backyard Blossoms & Blooms will be taking a much needed break from August 19th through August 26th 😊

It’s been a busy summer (no complaints here 😉), and I am looking forward to taking a few days to slow down, recharge, and enjoy some time away.

There’s just something extra special about dahlias. 😍 Their colors, shapes, and layers make them such a beautiful focal flower, and I absolutely love adding them to my late summer and fall bouquets!

One little thing to know about dahlias is that their vase life is a bit shorter than some of my other favorites, like zinnias and lisianthus. While zinnias and lisianthus can keep looking beautiful for quite a while, dahlias are a little more delicate and may not last quite as long.

But honestly? I think they’re worth it. 💕 There’s nothing quite like bringing a freshly cut dahlia from the garden into your home!

🌧️ A little change of plans this weekend! 🌧️

Due to the recent storms and the damage they’ve caused, I unfortunately won’t be able to attend the farmer’s market this weekend.

BUT… The good news is that I will have a limited number of bouquets and arrangements available at the flower stand this Saturday from 9-2pm 💐

If you were planning on getting your flower fix this weekend, be sure to stop by early… Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

🌸 Hey flower friends! With so many new faces here, I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

I’m Dana, the grower (and more often than not, the weed-puller 😅) behind Backyard Blossoms & Blooms.

What started as a small vegetable garden slowly turned into a backyard full of flowers. I started planting flowers because they made me happy, and soon I realized they were bringing joy to others too, which is how this little flower farm began.

Every bouquet you see is grown, cut, and arranged by me right here at home, in my backyard. From planting seeds to early morning and late evening harvests, I’m involved in every step.

My goal is simple: to share a little beauty and show that big dreams can grow in small spaces.

Whether you’ve been here from the start or just found my page, thank you for being here and supporting this dream. It truly means so much. 💐
