After last night’s tornado outbreak, we’re happy to say everyone is safe and BeeZee Farm came through without any damage. According to Chrissy the barn cat, however, the weather was completely unacceptable and she would like to formally complain about having to endure a wet night. 🐾🌧️ Thanks to everyone who reached out and checked on us!

Some of the best memories were made in the barn.

Back 2006, the boys spent summer at Gran and Papa’s house while we were stationed at Fort Hood. There was always something happening at the farm — pony rides, bottle calves, chores, adventures, and usually a little bit of chaos.

Aeon once got bucked off a pony.
Let’s also not forget skippy the pony!

The boys learned how to milk Jersey the cow… who honestly believed she was part dog because she greeted everyone with a giant slobbery lick. 😅

Looking back now, it wasn’t really about the chores or animals.

It was the kind of childhood you don’t realize is special until years later — dirty feet, barn cats, evening chores, laughter, and grandparents who made the farm feel like magic.

Beezee Farm has always been more than land to our family.

It has always been home. ❤️

Today we loaded out BeeZee’s Rasputin the Mad Monk (“Monk”) one of our American Milking Devons and Fuzzy our Limousin-Angus cross calf. Raising livestock is a responsibility we don’t take lightly. These boys were raised on pasture, handled with care, and have been part of our farm story from the beginning. We’re proud of the life they lived and grateful for the purpose they served.

People used to call Whitley “the dog whisperer” when she owned Mischievous Mutts…

…but honestly, we may need to break it to you —
it’s not just dogs. 🐷🍎❤️

Around Beezee Farm, animals just seem to trust her.

From dogs and bottle calves to pasture pigs looking for apple snacks, Whitley has always had a gentle way with animals that’s hard to explain but easy to see.

Maybe some people are just born with it.

We checked in on the future Beezee Farm pasture piglets today… and let’s just say life is already very busy in their world. 😅🐖

These little spotted piglets are full of personality already.

Poor momma sow finally just laid down and surrendered while everybody climbed on, pushed, squealed, fought over dinner, and stayed completely in her business. 😂

Meanwhile, these two decided wrestling was equally important.

Farm babies may be cute… but they are absolutely chaotic.

And honestly?
We cannot wait for them to arrive at Beezee Farm. ❤️

POV: You find the cow that ran away from home… and she looks at you like she has absolutely no regrets. 😅🐄

Number 14 was apparently deeply offended by getting ear tagged yesterday and decided she deserved a fresh start elsewhere.

By morning:
✔️ feed trough flipped
✔️ gate bent
✔️ electric fence down
✔️ another fence hopped

Meanwhile, Aeon spent part of his Sunday fixing fences while reminding everyone:

“It’s Sunday! It’s supposed to be a day of rest!” 😂

Unfortunately, Number 14 did not honor the Sabbath.

For over 35 years, many people knew him simply as “Ranger Bob.”

At Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, Bob Zimmerman dedicated his life to preserving pioneer farming, heritage livestock, and the forgotten skills that once sustained families for generations.

Thousands of children visited the Living Farm and learned directly from him:
how to care for animals,
how to work the land,
how to build,
plant,
spin wool,
farm with horses,
and live connected to the earth.

Now, after a difficult diagnosis with end-stage liver disease, our family is entering a new chapter.

His grandchildren — Aeon, Whitley, and Simon — are stepping in to help restore his personal Hobby Farm and continue the farm, the animals, and the knowledge Bob spent a lifetime preserving.

Beezee Farm is becoming more than a farm page.

It is becoming a living archive of:
🌾 Pioneer knowledge
🐄 Grass-fed registered Devon cattle
🐖 Pasture-raised pigs
🐓 Farm life & heritage skills
🌱 Organic gardening
🪵 Forgotten old ways
