SawariMedia Discovery & Advocacy

SawariMedia Discovery & Advocacy Our focus is on bridging the gap between civic isolation and political engagement by building community between people in prison, their families and future advocates.

There is no voice that isn't worth hearing, because hidden within their struggle are countless others. SawariMi aims to discover, empower and enlighten.

Mission: To connect, inspire and empower all members and those effected by the Black diaspora.

Stimulus Checks for Prisoners...What do I do if...?

I've been getting a lot of questions from individuals trying to support incarcerated people with filing their application for stimulus money and while I'm unable to answer case by case questions, here are some helpful numbers to call that can assist with individual obstacles as folks encounter them: Applicant Assistants on the outside can call the law firm handling the court case, Lieff Cabraser, at
415-956-1000.

Incarcerated people can call Root & Rebound collect at
510-279-4662

People can also call the IRS Economic Impact Payment line at
800-919-9835
*The IRS says that many frequently asked questions will be answered on the automated recording, and then you will have an option to speak live with a representative.

Remember, the deadline has been extended for applications!
Paper applications can be submitted through October 30, 2020
Online applications can be submitted through November 21, 2020

Why Do Prison Officials Have The Only Say On COVID-19

by Lacino Hamilton at Macomb Correctional Facility The last few years I have written many articles attempting to diagnose the deep malaise within the American criminal justice system. In particular, the human costs of high walls, razor wire, locked doors, grossly restricted mobility, punishment-violence, and execution--prison's defining characteristics. I have also attempted to expose and explain how over time the community was forced to give up its right and power to help its members when harmed by conflict, crime, or just crises in general. Revolutionary Intercommunalism teaches us that the reactionary ruling class here in Amerika control and dominate every country on earth through a system called reactionary Intercommunalism! That the world is hooked up through a process of interconnected technologies, cultures and communication systems! That only Socialist Revolution led by the Black working class could free the planet of this rapacious beast of exploitation! Panther Love!
