CHARACTER BREAK DOWNS
LEAD ROLE
Hestia: (30s) Goddess of the Hearth | Bubbly and energetic, Hestia finally gets to host thanksgiving at her house this year and she wants it to go perfect. She wants everyone to set their differences aside and remember they are family. She is a perfectionist and at times a control freak when the slightest inconvenience occurs.
SUPPORTING ROLES
Zeus: (50s+) King of the Gods | The absent parental figure, we all know the mythos on Zeus and how he has many kids with his kids and grand kids. He really only resonates with Hercules and tries to get his wife Hera to see things his way which always leads to an argument that he doesn’t mind having become a public spectacle.
Hera: (50s+) Queen of the gods | sheer perfection, Hera only wants the best of the best in her lineage. Hera is Hercules step mother and she finds any opportunity to express that. A bit of a stern narcissist, Hera doesn’t love her actual son Hephaestus because he was born ugly.
Hermes: (40s) the messenger god | A trickster at best, Hermes likes a lot of things, especially when they belong to someone else. He’s a kleptomaniac of sorts and enjoys creating a little chaos when people’s beloved items go missing.
Dionysus: (30s) the god of winemaking and ecstasy | the party animal, Dionysus is hype personified! Never seen without a drink in hand, he aides in the creation of flared tempers due to close quarters and alcohol consumption. He holds a soft spot for Hestia and applauds her frivolous attempt s to bring the family together
Hades: (50s+) god of the underworld | the rational one, Hades finally brings his wife Persephone to be around the rest of the family. He’s non confrontational and prefers to be a pacifist 9/10 interactions
Persephone: (30s) goddess of the underworld | a rose stuck with the weeds, Persephone is only allowed above ground 6 out of the 12 months. She doesn’t mind it as long as she’s with her love Hades. She tries to be the bridge between he and her mother
Demeter (50s): Goddess of agriculture and harvest | the helicopter parent, Demeter forever holds a grudge against Hades for forcing her daughter Persephone to stay in the underworld. Any interactions between the two are always hostile
Ares (30s): god of war | the homewrecker, Ares knows that he is the chaotic bad boy and embodies all things leather and tough. He was caught in the adulterous act with Aphrodite but hasn’t let that stop him from seeing her. This creates bad blood and a broken love triangle between he, Hephaestus, and Aphrodite
Poseidon (50s+): God of the sea, Poseidon is the middle child of the three brothers (Zeus and Hades). He takes his role as king of the sea very seriously and won’t let anyone get in the way of his caring for sea creatures. A bit hot headed like the rest of his family, especially when it comes to Apollo’s pescatarian lifestyle.
Apollo (30s): God of prophecy and music, Apollo is a pescatarian and he takes any and every chance he gets to tell someone about it. Pretty much drooling at the mouth thinking about the opportunity to convert someone over to his healthier lifestyle of living. Twin brother to Artemis
Artemis (30s): Goddess of the hunt, Artemis is a devote animal lover and doesn’t want to waste any animal carcass should it come down to hunting one. However deer are very sacred to her and remain untouched. Twin sister to Apollo
Hephaestus (30s): God of fire, he has burned scarring over his face and other parts of his body. As a child, his mother Hera threw him off Mt Olympus because he was too ugly. He holds this grudge with him whenever he’s around her or Hercules. However his personality and charm were enough to woo his wife Aphrodite but not enough to keep her eyes only devoted to him.
Aphrodite: (30s): Goddess of love, she is obsessed with her looks and makes sure she is always dressed for the occasion to outdo everyone in the room. She’s lavish and beautiful yet unfaithful to her husband with her eyes currently on Ares.
