How many RAW files are you keeping because one of them might eventually reveal itself as the masterpiece?
Digital storage has made it very easy to postpone decisions: another burst, another near-duplicate and another folder called “sort later.” Most photographers are disciplined about camera settings yet remarkably sentimental about files they haven’t opened in six years.
Keeping everything can feel safe, but an archive only becomes genuinely useful when it is organised, searchable and properly backed up. Until then, we’re essentially paying rent for photographs we’ve forgotten taking.
What is the oldest completely unnecessary photograph you still refuse to delete?
