❤️ We really do have the BEST guests!

Never in all the businesses we’ve run have we been bought so many gifts… and we genuinely don’t quite know what to say! 🥹

Over the last few weeks, guests have turned up with ch*****ne, w**e, chocolates, artisan pies and all sorts of other treats — and today we received this lovely card and gift congratulating us on our first season and wishing us well for 2027. 🥂

None of it is expected. Not one bit. Having people choose our little 5-pitch campsite for their break is more than enough.

But the fact that people arrive as guests, spend a few days with us and then think enough of Halfway House — and of Ged, Julia and the family — to bring us something really does mean a lot.

When we started this, we wanted Halfway House to be more than somewhere you simply park a caravan. We wanted it to feel friendly, personal and like somewhere you’d genuinely want to come back to.

Judging by the friendships we’ve made this year, we think we might just be getting there. ❤️

So to everyone who’s stayed, brought us a gift, left us a lovely review, recommended us, watched Behind the Pitches or simply stopped for a chat… THANK YOU.

Although at this rate, between the pies, chocolates and booze, we’re going to need a considerably bigger fridge before 2027. 😂🥧🍫🍾

Come as strangers, leave as friends.

🌱 WELL… LOOK WHO’S BACK ON MOWING DUTIES! 😂

For a good chunk of this summer, cutting the grass at Halfway House wasn't exactly high on the job list…

Mainly because there wasn't much grass left to cut! ☀️😂

After weeks of dry weather and everything looking rather brown and crispy, things have taken a slightly different turn lately…

Let's just say it's got a little bit MOIST. 🌧️😂

And apparently the grass has taken that as its cue to make up for lost time!

So Ged's back aboard the ride-on, trying to keep on top of it before Halfway House turns into the Lincolnshire jungle. 🌱🚜

It's amazing how quickly everything changes.

A few weeks ago we were desperate for some rain and wondering whether the grass would ever properly come back…

Now we're looking at it thinking:

“Didn't you cut that yesterday?” 😂

At least the site is starting to look lovely and green again. ❤️

Although we're not sure Ged is quite as pleased about it as we are…

Not something we thought we’d be saying when we started Halfway House!

It’s quite surreal seeing how far this little place has come — especially knowing many of you have been watching the journey right from the beginning.

🚐 WHY ONLY FIVE PITCHES?

“Wouldn't you make more money if you added more pitches?”

It's actually something we've been asked a few times since starting Halfway House.

And technically… probably. 😂

But that's not really what we're trying to build here.

Halfway House has just FIVE touring pitches and, for us, that's a massive part of what makes the place what it is.

When we're full, we're full with five vans.

That means we can actually get to know the people staying with us.

We know who's arriving, who's been before, whose dog is going to make a beeline for the exercise field… and who's probably going to end up standing chatting for half an hour when they only popped over to ask a quick question. 😂

It means you can sit outside your caravan without feeling like you're one of 150 vans lined up in a field.

And it means Halfway House still feels like Halfway House. ❤️

We're incredibly proud of how much the site has grown — but growing doesn't necessarily have to mean getting bigger.

Sometimes it means making what you've already got BETTER.

🚿 Better facilities
🌱 Better pitches
🐾 Better experience
❤️ And hopefully plenty more memories

So for now…

Five pitches will do us nicely. ❤️

🚐 EVERY CARAVANNING COUPLE KNOWS THIS MOMENT… 😂

A caravan pulls onto the campsite.

Driver looks confident.

Passenger gets out.

And suddenly a relationship that has survived 20+ years is hanging by a thread. 😂

The passenger walks behind the caravan and starts giving directions…

👋 “Come back…”

👋 “Back…”

👋 “BACK…”

Then comes the frantic arm waving.

“THE OTHER WAY!”

Window comes down…

“WHICH OTHER WAY?!” 😂😂

Meanwhile, everyone else on the campsite suddenly becomes VERY interested in something inside their own caravan so it doesn't look like they're watching.

Of course, eventually somebody remembers they've got a motor mover…

…and peace is restored. 😂

So let's settle this.

DID YOU KNOW? 👀

Halfway House Touring only has FIVE pitches.

And that's not something we're particularly interested in changing. 😂
Being small means we can actually get to know the people staying with us.
There's no massive reception queue.
No rows and rows of caravans.
No trying to remember where on earth pitch 147 is. 😂

Just five touring pitches in the Lincolnshire countryside, each with:
⚡ Electric hook-up
💧 Water at the pitch
🚿 Shower & toilet facilities
🐾 Access to our large dog exercise field
And because we're adults only, things tend to stay pretty peaceful too.

Small isn't a limitation for us.
It's pretty much the whole point. ❤️

We need your help with something…

Over the past couple of years we've welcomed rather a LOT of four-legged guests to Halfway House. 😂❤️

Some arrive like seasoned tourers and immediately know the routine…

🐾 Inspect the pitch
👃 Conduct a full sniffing survey
🌳 Locate the dog exercise field
🦴 Work out which human has the treats
😴 Then spend the rest of the holiday asleep outside the caravan

And let's face it…

Quite a few of them seem to enjoy Halfway House more than their humans do. 😂

So we want to see them!

A massive thank you to Paul & Joanne for this lovely surprise for Ged, Julia & the family. ❤️

A bottle of bubbly, a card and some incredibly kind words congratulating us on a fantastic 2026 season — and wishing us all the best for 2027 and beyond.

When we started Halfway House, the idea was simply to create a little 5-pitch campsite where people could come, relax and enjoy themselves.

We definitely didn't expect to meet so many brilliant people along the way who arrive as guests and very quickly feel more like friends. ❤️

Gestures like this genuinely mean a lot to all of us.

WOW… we are absolutely overwhelmed here at Halfway House!

Last night we launched our 2027 dates and you lovely lot went wild — in just 4 hours you booked just short of 20% of the entire year.
We’re blown away, genuinely humbled, and so grateful for every single booking.

It means the world to us that so many of you want to spend your precious downtime here, and we can’t wait to welcome back familiar faces as well as meet brand‑new ones.

But don’t panic… that still means 80% of 2027 is available, so if you’re thinking of joining us next year, now’s the time to get booked in.

We still have a few key dates left too: ✨ Easter ✨ May Bank Holidays ✨ August Bank Holiday (Yes… there are still a couple of pitches left!)
Thank you again for the incredible support — you’ve truly made our week.
Roll on 2027… we can’t wait to see you all!
