The first time I took myself on a solo date, I felt awkward. Everyone around me was in pairs, and I wondered if people were judging me. But as time passed, I began to enjoy it—the freedom to choose where to go, what to eat, how long to stay. It became a form of empowerment.
Now I make it a habit. Sometimes it’s a quiet lunch in a café, sometimes a long walk in the park or an art exhibit. These moments alone help me reconnect with who I am outside of my roles and routines. Learning to love my own company has been one of the most freeing experiences of my life. When you stop waiting for others to bring you joy, you realize you’ve had it within you all along.
