The Conway Christmas Parade is almost here, and this year, in honor of our 150th birthday, the theme is Christmas Past.๐ŸŽ„โœจ

Weโ€™re rolling out all the hometown nostalgia: glowing floats, festive music, and that classic small-town Christmas magic that makes this parade such a beloved tradition.

Before the parade kicks off, help us spread a little extra joy by taking part in our Fill the Truck toy drive! Bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots and help make Christmas brighter for kids in our community. โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ

Itโ€™s Giving Tuesday, Central Arkansas!๐Ÿ’

Today is all about supporting the nonprofits that show up for our local kids and families all year long. These organizations feed, protect, teach, encourage, and lift up households across Pulaski, Saline, Lonoke, Faulkner, and Garland counties.

Kidโ€™s Directory is shining a spotlight on the groups making the biggest impact because when local nonprofits thrive, Arkansas families thrive too. If youโ€™re able, consider giving, volunteering, sharing their posts, or simply spreading the word. Every act of generosity helps.

Check the comments for a complete list of Central Arkansas nonprofits serving children and families in 2025. If you know of any additional nonprofits that should be added, please add them in the comments! This comprehensive list will also remain available on kidcentralar.com.

Let's talk about shopping! Tucked between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday, tomorrow, Nov 29th, is more than just a shopping holiday; itโ€™s a chance to reinvest in your community and the small businesses that are made up of your neighbors, family, and friends.

Did you know that when you spend $100 at a local small business, more than $68 stays in the local economy, compared to just $43 at national chains.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration:
Small businesses make up 99.3% of all Arkansas businesses.
They employ nearly half of the stateโ€™s workforce.
Holiday sales account for 20-40% of a local retailer's annual revenue.

That means every purchase counts, especially during this season.

Visit our Kid News blog to learn ways your family can show up and support, create new traditions, and probably have some fun while shopping.
https://kidcentralar.com/kid-news/f/small-business-saturday-why-shopping-local-matters

Not feeling like getting out? The good news is you can always support small and make a BIG impact in your community every day of the year. So the next time you need something, shop local, I bet you will find just what you are looking for.
