Being a creative soul is beautiful. I wrote this for you—because I love your creativity, and I know how much it means to you.

Creative energy is addictive. We love our inner artist, and we cherish that feeling of being in the zone—whether it's late at night, early in the morning, during a lunch break, or in those precious quiet moments while the kids nap. Sometimes we even look forward to whole weekends immersed in the studio. So why is it that some pieces don’t turn out like we hoped? Why does our Muse sometimes go missing, leaving us in a creative funk?

Here’s something I’ve learned:

Sometimes the world outside creeps into our creative space, even if we don’t realize it. The stress of work, the noise of the news, the swirl of responsibilities—these can quietly tangle up our creative energy. We carry all that with us into the studio.

And that’s okay.

We don’t always arrive at our bench in perfect clarity. Sometimes we have to fight for our focus. Our hands want to create so badly, but our minds are noisy. This push and pull between creativity and distraction is part of the process. It’s real

So here’s my advice: move with it like a wave.

When you feel present—when you can hear your materials and feel your piece taking shape—go for it. Create something. But if your mind is busy, distracted by work or stress or worry, and you feel like you’re not really with your materials... that’s your signal. Pause.

Take a breath. Step outside. Stretch. Pet the dog. Check on the kids. Do whatever you need to do until you feel yourself come back. Back to your idea. Back to your bench. Back to the flow.

And when you return—don’t rush.

If you only have an hour, then make it a comfortable hour. Let that be enough. When you have another hour, return to your bench again.

Or—if you’re in overdrive mode—ride the wave! Let instinct take over. Don’t overthink the technical stuff. Just trust your creativity and run with it like you're surfing something divine. This is the other real flow.

Creativity can sweep us away and creativity can be like a wonderful slow dance too. Recognize both sides to maximize your studio success and enjoyment of your time there.

This may not be everyone’s rhythm, but it works for me. I hope it helps you be gentle with your artwork and your Muse ;)
Much love!

Hi friends! I wrote this to help you with your marketing...
Let AI help you... here is how to use it for marketing your jewelry.

In todays world, if you want to sell online, a good product description or language for your store listing, can really help your work travel farther into the digital space of commerce. As Artists, it's sometimes hard for us to find the right words to describe our jewelry for the public.

This is where AI is a huge help and not only is it a huge help but it is also perfectly ethical for you to do. Many people use AI like a secretary... "type all this down for me and make it sound better than I would"... etc...

I've given some simple instructions below to help you get warmed up to the idea.

Here is how to start...

1. If you don't already have a free AI account somewhere, open one up. I use Chatgpt (www.Chatgpt.com) as well as Google Gemini (https://gemini.google.com) for many things, including jewelry descriptions.

💬 Step 2: Get to Know Your AI
When you open the AI, you’ll see a blank screen with a box — kind of like a search engine. Just type what you want and press enter. This is called a prompt — basically, a fancy word for your question or request.

Think of it like this: Talk to your AI like you would a helpful assistant who knows how to write and market your jewelry.

✍️ Step 3: Try These Practice Prompts
“I made a wire wrapped pendant using copper wire and a moonstone gemstone. The pendant is 2 inches tall by 1 inch wide. Please write an enticing product description for Facebook so I can find a buyer.”

“I made a collection of wire wrapped pendants using sterling silver and Ethiopian opals. Can you write something beautiful to market my collection on Instagram?”

💡 TIP:
Mentioning where you plan to post — like Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok — helps the AI tailor the tone. Each platform has different word limits and vibes:

TikTok: short, trendy, playful

Instagram: visual, stylish, slightly poetic

Facebook: heartfelt, detailed, community-oriented

📆 Seasonal + Strategic Prompts
“Christmas is coming, and I’ve made sparkly wire wrapped rings and matching earrings. Please write a festive post to market my holiday collection on Facebook.”

“Spring is coming! What are the trending wire-wrapped jewelry styles and color palettes for cabochon stones this season?”

“I’m a wire-wrapped jewelry artist selling on Facebook. What are the best sales strategies for me to grow?”

“I live in [insert city, state], and I sell jewelry on Facebook. What should I do if someone overseas wants to buy? How do I handle shipping?”

“I want to start selling my jewelry on Instagram but don’t know where to start. What are the best practices for selling and what’s currently trending?”

Have fun with this! AI is a wonderful tool — like a helpful friend with a way with words. Once you get the hang of it, I bet you’ll find it just as fun and useful as I do.

Much love, and happy creating! 💖

Hi friends! Have current events interrupted the peace within your life? Consider learning an artform. For real. Art-therapy is a real thing and doesn't take any professional help. Baking, gardening, music, drawing, painting, dancing... I craft wire into beautiful jewelry... because it gives me joy first and because it does support my household next. You can learn this from me, free on my YouTube channel as well as many other teachers who share for free, their beautiful artform.

Artists work for ourselves. We determine how our day goes and what gets done, or not today. We work most of the time, within our home studios... where our beloved pets are cuddled at our feet, where our children are snoozing in the next room and where we have delicious food cooking, all at once. Sometimes, this multi-tasking also involves a face to face zoom with our families and friends... as well as the ability to tend to our gardens and take walks for breaks or just take the puppy out to play in the middle of our 'work' day. Sometime, we get a workout in there too.

Most of us don't commute. Most of us don't spend money on business clothing.

Don't get me wrong, it's not easy... we work all day, I do anyway. We have to self educate, not only about our beloved art, but if we intend to make a living from our living, then we also exercise our business senses... An artist has to be brave, not only creative. We have to be innovative, we have to wear many hats. We are our own marketing machine, often meaning we have to learn technology too... and how to be our sales person, how to be our own accountant... as well as continue to grow and enjoy our creative artwork itself... sometimes we do more than one 'day job' to support our artist lifestyle, it means that much to us and some of us are working to transition out of the 9 to 5 and make our art studio our full time business.

Things happen for a reason, be they fair reasons or not, but within each of us, I believe, is a passion other than what you do 9 to 5... Artists support artists... we celebrate each other, share and inspire each other. We cry together, solve problems together, pray and send healing wholesome vibes to each other ... and most of us only know each other 'out here'... in the digital sunshine and space of our Artwork. We accept happy accidents because many times that is our Muse showing us our own genius and determination.

I write this in hopes to inspire your artist within. Because my whole mission is to grow more hearts like ours and to make communities like ours the norm. And that is all. For many reasons.

Consider what you love to do and where you love to be and then consider how much of your day you've been giving to something other than that. Now might be the time to believe in your own creativity and trust in the community you might have once called hobby, or spare time...

We can 'bust our ass' in many ways... I choose to give my hard work and efforts to myself and my beloved artwork, friends, students, customers and household... to my beautiful Jolene. Creating joy for a living is a peaceful and lovely way to work hard and earn a living, so please consider This Way.

Much love. Thank you for reading if you have. I'd love to know how you're feeling.

Hi friends! I had no idea you might not have known... until today one of my students didn't know! I am a wire wrapping teacher on YouTube by day and by other days, I work behind the scenes for RMGM Promotions, supporting the show and the dealers with my artist style technical type abilities. When I lived in Colorado, I also worked the floor of the show, during preshow to help her move the dealers into the building (along with many crew) ... this is a super fun thing, while very very busy, I clocked on average 10 miles a day (yes, the crew do pedometer races for real! I started it. :) During Septembers longer show, this could amount to me doing over 60 miles on my feet in 10 days, which is not too shabby. So... now you know. I love the show and I love the dealers and I love working during show time to support them! It's one of the best times of my life and I'm missing all of it already... but you have time to make plans to go! April 18-20-2025 at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado.

You can follow her FB pages at
https://www.facebook.com/RMGMmineralandfossilshows
You can follow the show YouTube (new, so please help us grow and sub) https://www.youtube.com/

For my jewelry business, I also am a shopper as are my private customers. We used to shop together until I moved to NH...(sobbing!)

And so...
Vendors wanted! Dear jewelry making community, lapidary friends and all of my friends who sell rocks, carved stones, handmade gemstone jewelry, rough rocks, fossils, meteorites... etc... she has booth openings for Colorado Spring Show, 2025 as well as she is opening up applications to all shows, Colorado, Texas and Tucson for future dates. If you are interested in joining one of the oldest, most respected and most well known Mineral and Fossil Shows in Colorado and growing in Texas as well as Tucson... please inquire at the link, below. And please do not contact ME. All of her vendor inquiries must go through that link please. Thank you! I hope to see you at one of the shows! ... with your pedometer!

She did it. Magical! Thank you for sharing, Susan! (Her name happens to be Susan too). This isn't exactly as easy as it might look but if I'm counting right, she conquered it in 8 tries. Way to go!!

Hi again friends! The Colorado show is coming up, just a reminder that it's not only crazy amazing rock shopping for my students and rockhounding friends, but it's also the place to be with your kids! This is the show I love, so if you're near or in Colorado, it's worth going and supporting these incredible dealers and find really great crystals, cabochons, fossils, meteorites, all kinds of stuff! Many of the dealers give out free little crystals and fossils to the kids too, so don't be shy when you go there. Not all of them, but some of them do, so it's quite fun for the kids! Ask the dealers questions about where that came from and be amazed at their expertise! Many of them are the actual prospector, miner, claim owner, expert in their field, and some of them sell to museums... did you know that about the rock show? When you see a dinosaur in the museums or huge crystals ... they might have come from one of these very dealers! There is more to the mineral and fossil show, than you might know! It's free to just go and worth it to find and shop for your ultimate treasure!

And if you're a vendor... she's still taking applications into the show.
There are only a few booths left, so you can click the link and make your inquiry.

And part 3, Sophia Crowne... this is a one wire technique, to capture the gemstone in prongs, create the ring base design as well as the shank. There are no cuts on the inside of the ring, so it's scratch-less also. I hope you enjoy and I hope it inspires you!

Hey Members! Okay, here we go with Part 1 of Sophia Ring! I took the time to go into great detail about how and why, I do the prongs the way I do them. This is a gorgeous gemstone cup, with even and consistent prongs all the way around. I use one single wire to make Sophia, and one tie wire. The center wire capture can be useful for many projects, not just this ring, so this is why I took the time to isolate this part of the tutorial... you know me... I have a surprise or two in mind about this setting for you, beyond Sophia. ;)
Enjoy and I will see you tomorrow with part 2 where we will actually make the ring using the remaining length of wire as well as adding embellishment. Much love! This will also be one of our Livestream projects this month on the 29 and 30th. We will also do some fun and easy symmetry that weekend, simple shapes that can become amazing other things xo

Thanks, everyone! See you soon again!

Hi Everyone! Two nights ago, I slipped and took a bad fall on the ice.... my update... 2 broken ribs, but no further damage to the arm, thank god. For those who don't know.... the myth of wrapping your ribs with Ace Bandages is NOT recommended. The lungs need to expand, even through the pain of the broken ribs, otherwise, there is risk of moisture collecting in lungs which makes things worse... so if this has happened to you, don't wrap your torso, rather, go see your doctor for the xrays. I had no idea I had 2 broken ribs from that fall but now have very specific instructions for care. Nothing will change with my normal channel schedule or plans, just gonna eat the Tylenol and Ibuprofen until I'm better. xoxo Thank you to all who have been asking, I appreciate your support and prayers for body healing. xoxo Always something....
xoxo
