EPiC = Elvis Presley In Concert. LJBG = “Let’s Just Be Glad”.
Following it’s Premiere at TIFF, the new movie EPiC has received incredible, glowing reviews from critics & fans alike. I remember the days when Elvis was criticised, scrutinised & judged for just about everything by the media, & now it seems that FINALLY the mainstream have warmed to the greatness of Elvis, & the importance & relevance of his career. They are now seeing Elvis’ true artistry, superb talent, & sheer brilliance of his live performances, EPiC is going to secure that within his legacy. So to the - “ There’s nothing new”. “We’ve seen it all before”. You may have seen bootleg reels in very substandard quality. You will NEVER have seen footage in this visual and sound quality EVER. Reportedly 40 MINUTES completely NEW. Baz stated they have in its restored entirety, Hampton Roads. Not everything filmed for TTWII & On Tour remain within the salt mines of Kansas. Baz has worked with everything he had access to. THE LOST PERFORMANCES On VHS in 1992 contained out takes from both MGM films, plus the Special Edition of TTWII In 2001, 24 years ago, so I sweep the negativity this movie is gaining within the fandom away. I have no time for it. If Baz had not made the 2022 ELVIS movie despite your opinions of it, the success of that project made EPiC possible, & if EPiC is not supported & appreciated you can guarantee everyone who lived in Elvis’ lifetime will all be dead and gone before anything, if ever, is released in this capacity, professionally again. What is there to be negative about? As a fan I’ve got a new 100 minute movie of ELVIS in pristine, powerful, restored vision & sound to cherish. I’m going to see between 30 and 40 minutes of footage I’ve NEVER seen before, and much of the other material in alternate, new camera angles and presentation. ELVIS for the first time, telling his own story in his own voice, in his own words. I’d say that is something worth celebrating.

A new Elvis Presley concert film, directed by Baz Luhrmann and featuring a trove of previously unreleased footage and recordings, is set to hit theatres in 2026.

'EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert' is centered largely around recently discovered video of Presley’s famous 1970 Las Vegas residency and his 1972 North American tour. It also features new 8mm footage from the Graceland archives, as well as recordings of Presley discussing his life, which Luhrmann discovered while working on the 2022 biopic, 'Elvis'.

Priscilla shares from her book Elvis and Me, "His personal life was not helping the situation. He was seeing Ginger Alden, who was twenty years his junior, and more of a problem. He'd say, "I'm tired of raising kids. I don't have the patience to go through it all over again." There were conflicts. Ginger did not like touring, one night stands. She was close to her family and didn't want to leave them. Elvis tried bringing half her family with them, but it only created other problems. "She spends more time with her sister and mother than she does me," he complained. In discussing his dilemma. I asked, "Do you think you can really live with just one woman?" "Yes," he answered, "Now more than ever. I know I've done some stupid things, but the stupidest was not realizing what I had until I lost it. I want my family back." See less

Elvis Presley’s mother, Gladys, often said she was happier when they were poor than after he became rich and famous. At first, it may seem surprising—after all, Elvis lavished her with gifts, houses, cars, jewelry, and every material comfort imaginable.

Yet Gladys longed for the simplicity of their early life, when love and closeness mattered more than wealth. She treasured the small moments, the quiet nights together, and the warmth of family—things fame could never replace. Perhaps she sensed the hidden cost of her son’s success.

Without the pressures of money and celebrity, Elvis might have lived longer, free from the relentless spotlight and crushing expectations that contributed to his untimely death at forty-two. Wealth brought comfort, yes, but it also brought isolation, stress, and an unending public gaze no mother could wish upon her child. Even amid luxury, their bond had been strongest before fame, when laughter and shared dreams mattered more than diamonds or mansions.

Gladys understood that riches could not buy happiness; she valued love, connection, and the simple joys of a life lived with full hearts. Her words serve as a poignant reminder that true wealth is often measured not in gold, but in the moments and relationships that make life meaningful. See less

On This Day in Music History – October 21, 1955

By the fall of 1955, Elvis Presley was quickly becoming a national sensation — and fans were beginning to realize just how magnetic his presence was. On this day in Memphis, Elvis tried to make a simple trip to the movies, but what followed showed just how powerful the Presley phenomenon had already become.
As he arrived at a local theatre, word spread fast that Elvis was in the building, and within minutes, he was surrounded by a mob of excited teenagers. In the frenzy, fans accidentally damaged his brand new Cadillac, the very symbol of his early success.
From that night on, Elvis learned an important lesson about fame — and his devoted following. To avoid the chaos, he began renting out entire movie theatres so he and his friends could enjoy films in peace, away from the crowds who adored him.
This moment was one of the first clear signs that Elvis Presley wasn’t just another rising star — he was a cultural force. The young man from Tupelo had become the face of a new generation, one that was ready to rock, scream, and follow him anywhere.

If you could have joined Elvis for one of those private movie nights, what film would you have chosen?

Elvis Presley’s generosity was the stuff of legend — and one night in Miami Beach proved it. After a concert, he asked his limo driver, “Do you own this car, or work for the company?” The young man replied, “I work for the company, sir.” Elvis smiled and said, “Well, now it’s yours.” Then he walked away, leaving the stunned driver holding the keys. No cameras, no spotlight — just pure kindness. That night, Elvis reminded the world that true kings don’t rule with crowns, but with generosity and grace.

In August 1969, Elvis Presley sat beside Priscilla, mere moments away from one of the most pivotal nights of his career — his long-anticipated return to live performance at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. After years devoted largely to film, this comeback was more than a show; it was a declaration. The King had returned.

The International Hotel, later known as the Las Vegas Hilton, boasted the city’s largest showroom at the time. For Elvis, it was the ideal stage to reconnect with his audience and remind the world of the power, charisma, and presence that had first made him a star. Excitement crackled through the crowd, while behind the scenes, Priscilla provided quiet strength and steadfast support.

Though their marriage would later face trials, in that moment they were united — partners in life and in legacy. That night’s performance ignited a new era for Elvis: electrifying shows, roaring standing ovations, and a resurgence of superstardom. The image of the two of them together, poised on the edge of a remarkable rebirth, endures as a moving symbol of love, loyalty, and the unstoppable drive behind one of music’s greatest legends. A reporter once asked Elvis Presley a simple question.
“Elvis,” he said, “I spoke to a woman yesterday who told me you’re the most beautiful person she’s ever seen. So tell me — who’s the most beautiful person you’ve ever seen?”

Without hesitation, Elvis smiled and said softly, “My mother.”

There was no pause, no performance — just truth. It wasn’t a line meant for charm or the cameras. It came from deep within, from a place untouched by fame. Because for Elvis, beauty was never about appearance or glamour. It lived in kindness, in faith, in the love of a mother who had stood by him when the world was still small and uncertain.

Gladys Presley was the heart of Elvis’s world. Through years of struggle and poverty, she had been his comfort and strength — his anchor in a life that would soon become a storm. When he spoke of her, his voice softened, and that familiar sparkle in his eyes turned tender. She wasn’t just his mother; she was his foundation, his home.

When Gladys passed away in 1958, Elvis was only twenty-three — at the height of fame but at the lowest point of his heart. He never truly recovered from the loss. Her spirit followed him everywhere — in his songs, his generosity, and in the moments when he’d retreat from the noise to sit quietly, remembering the woman who believed in him before anyone else did.

So when Elvis answered, “My mother,” it wasn’t a celebrity’s reply. It was the truth of a son who never stopped loving the woman who shaped his soul. For all the lights, applause, and adoration, the most beautiful person Elvis Presley ever saw was the one who taught him what love — real love — truly meant. See less

A beautiful and tender photograph captures Lisa Marie Presley with her beloved children, Benjamin Keough and Riley Keough — a timeless moment of warmth, connection, and family love. In the image, their closeness speaks volumes: the kind of quiet, unspoken bond that only a mother and her children can share.

For Lisa Marie, family was everything. She often described Benjamin and Riley as her greatest treasures, the light that gave her life meaning amid fame, loss, and legacy. When Benjamin tragically passed away in 2020, her heart was forever changed. Yet, even through heartbreak, Lisa’s love for her son never dimmed — it simply transformed into remembrance, woven into every breath, every word, every melody.

Today, Riley Keough carries forward that spirit — strong, graceful, and deeply rooted in the Presley legacy. She honors both her mother and brother with quiet dignity, keeping their stories alive through her art, her kindness, and her unwavering strength.

Though time moves on, this photograph stands as a beautiful reminder: love like theirs never fades — it only deepens with memory. ❤️ See less

One afternoon, Elvis Presley and his cousin Billy Smith were riding in a limousine when they noticed an elderly Black couple struggling to push their broken-down truck loaded with firewood. Without a moment’s hesitation, Elvis told the driver to pull over and back up to help.

At first, the couple had no idea who he was. Elvis offered to push the truck with his limo, but when that didn’t work, he stepped out and offered the man a ride. Grateful, the man climbed in, and they drove straight to Oakley Ford in Memphis.

Billy later recalled the scene: “He bought the man a brand-new pickup, and I thought that old man was gonna pass out. He just couldn’t believe it.”

When the salesman asked, “Mr. Presley, anything else?” the man finally realized who had helped him — but Elvis wasn’t finished yet. He told the man to follow them back to the broken-down truck. There, Elvis and Billy helped move every piece of wood into the new pickup.

The man, still dazed, asked softly, “You want that old truck?”
Elvis just smiled and said, “No, but you might get something for it.”

Then, as they were about to leave, Elvis handed the man $500 in cash and said gently, “This’ll help you too.”

The man could barely speak. “Thank you so much, Mr. Presley. Lord bless you!” he said, his voice trembling.

As the limo pulled away, Billy looked back to see the man still standing there by the roadside — motionless, overwhelmed, and watching as the King drove off, leaving behind not just a new truck, but a memory of kindness he’d never forget. See less
