Most of us want to follow Jesus, but the real challenge is:
What does faith look like at work?
How do I live like a Christian in my relationships?
What about money decisions? Emotions? Culture? Politics?

Romans 12 tells us that worship is not just a Sunday activity—it’s a whole-life calling. In this episode, Kate and Kellie explore six everyday spaces where faith speaks powerfully to all of these areas. Welcome to "Off the Rails!"

There is so much demanding of our time and attention these days - and so many places where our time and presence are demanded of us. But we can't be everywhere all the time - and we can't do it all - even though we may like to think we can. But there is something sacred about drawing boundaries in your life, as difficult as it may be sometimes. In this episode Kate and Kellie talk about boundaries and how they are rooted in scripture beginning with God's example right from creation - and demonstrated all the way through the life of Jesus. If you struggle to say "no," and perhaps feel a sense of guilt when you do, then this episode is for you! Welcome to "Off the Rails!"

Today is All Saints Day.

Each year, on the first Sunday of November, we celebrate All Saints Day by recognizing our dear family members and friends who have passed away within the last year.

Who do you remember today?

We encourage you to share the names of those you would like to commemorate, and together, online, let us express our gratitude and praise God for the lasting legacy they left in our lives.

Do you struggle with discontentment?

In Philippians 4:12, Paul shares a secret to contentment. From the prison cell he was unjustly placed in, he writes, “I have learned the secret of being content.” The word learned stood out to me when I read it a few months ago. Sometimes, we are too hard on ourselves because we grumble, complain, or feel down. As followers of Christ, we know we should be content and grateful in all circumstances, but—let’s be honest—it’s tough! Maybe you’ve even wrestled with the lie that you’re not faithful enough or not a “good” enough believer to experience true, wholehearted gratitude. We need to quiet these judgmental thoughts and lay them at Jesus’ feet.

Paul practiced being content. He practiced finding things to be grateful for. The word learned suggests there were times he fell short and had to try again. He trained his mind and heart to look for God’s goodness in all things. He reminded himself of God’s promises. Most importantly, Paul stayed connected to the Source and leaned on Him.

We too will stumble as we work to quiet our hearts and remain grateful, no matter our circumstances. It takes practice to train our responses to reflect contentment, especially when our flesh wants to do the opposite. We must turn off our earthly expectations and comparisons in order to set our hearts up for gratitude. This might look like unfollowing or muting social media accounts that leave you feeling inadequate or unsatisfied. When feelings of discontentment arise, have a breath prayer ready to help calm your heart and keep your focus on Jesus. Make daily gratitude lists, serve others, and stay rooted in God’s Word and prayer. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself flourishing in contentment and bursting with gratitude.

As disciples of Christ, we will learn to rely on His power, and the blessings we receive through Him will make all the difference. One day, you will confidently say, “I have learned the secret of contentment.” It takes practice and grace, but we will get there!

This week, our focus will be on praising God and strengthening our gratitude muscles as we reflect on His goodness. When life feels hard, remember—you belong to a good, gracious, and loving God who is everything you need.

Breath prayer: Breathe in: Yet I will rejoice
Breathe out: In you, Lord.
(Habakkuk 3:17-19)

We all know someone who once had tremendous influence in our lives and traded it away for petty gossip. Be the one who talks to people, not about them. We all mess up, and when we do, if you are invited to reconcile with someone, jump at the chance rather than talking about them once again instead of to them.

True peace can be hard to come by - especially true inner peace? And why is that? There are many reasons - but one cannot ignore the way our current culture assaults our sense of peace. So how do we combat that? In this episode, Kate and Kellie lay out 10 ways culture assaults our peace and offers solutions to each one. Welcome to Off the Rails!

There are moments in life when God seems to brush up against our ordinary days—a child’s laughter, the hush of evening light, the way prayer sometimes stills the noise inside our hearts. These glimpses aren’t grand or flashy, but they are holy. They remind us that God is not only “out there,” distant and unreachable, but right here—present in the smallest of moments, patiently waiting for us to notice Him.

Henri Nouwen once wrote that our deepest vocation is simply to be a witness to these glimpses of God. That’s it. Not to perform, not to impress, not even to have all the answers, but to notice and to tell the truth about what we’ve seen. To live with eyes wide open and hearts attuned, so that we can say to one another: “Look, He was here. He is here. He will always be here.” This is the heart of discipleship—choosing to pay attention and daring to speak of it, even when it feels small.

And in a world so often clouded by despair, cynicism, or distraction, that kind of witness becomes light. Your story, your little glimpse of God’s presence, may be exactly what helps someone else remember hope. You don’t have to have it all together. You don’t have to see the whole picture. You just have to share the piece of beauty, the sliver of grace, the tiny flame of His love that you’ve been entrusted to hold. Because when we gather those glimpses together, we start to see the whole mosaic of God’s faithfulness—and it’s more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. ✨

There is an odd controversy surrounding the phrase "thoughts and prayers" - especially in the face of national tragedies. Some people offer up thoughts and prayers as a way to engage in their faith in the midst of terribly circumstances, while others criticize the phrase, claiming that is not what is needed, but rather action and reform. As Christians, we adamantly believe in both - yet we also reject the idea that our thoughts and prayers and ineffectual. Kate and Kellie spend some time chatting about this very subject and look forward to having you engage with them, too.
