People think mediation is about splitting the difference on money.
It’s not. Not really.
Most of the time, what someone actually wants is to be heard. To have the other person finally understand why this matters so much. Money is just the easiest thing to fight over — it’s measurable, it’s tangible, it’s something you can put a number on.
But underneath almost every dispute I sit with, there’s the same quiet thing: I don’t feel like anyone’s actually listening to me.
That’s the real work of mediation. Not splitting the pie. Helping people feel heard enough that they can finally move forward.
Your Conflict. Your Resolution.
