I get so emotional when I get messages that start with, “You inspired me to…” and you can fill in the blanks with whatever it could be because it’s been all kinds of things. I cry over these messages. It’s the young mom who is wondering if she’ll ever get the time to do the things she dreams of and she stumbled on my IG and realizes there’s still time. Or it’s the 51 year old telling me about her new goals of solo backpacking or “I want to try ice climbing!” Eeeeeeek. I CRY OVER THESE. They get me in my soul and this is my WHY for even being on here.
When I set out to share this side of my life on here, it didn’t come easy. I’ve conquered some deep fears that have existed in me for as long as I can remember and I’ve found it’s exhilarating to squash fears, especially my ridiculous irrational fears! There’s also a lot about me that I don’t share. My body has been wrecked by years of playing ball sports and running, thyroid disease, endometriosis, osteoarthritis. I’ve had both shoulders & both knees repaired, and I have a titanium right knee. 14 surgeries. Why am I sharing this? Because I used to come up with all of the excuses for why I can’t do something. When I’m not actively moving my body, I’m on the couch napping, but goals don’t get achieved from my couch. If this account gets one woman to realize she can dream and achieve, then I can live with that! I believe in you. ❤️
This pic is from The Thang, in Vail, something that was never even on my radar. EVER. But believed in me and sometimes all it takes is one woman to believe in you to give you the courage to see what you may not see, but others do!
