Jerome Horwitz, famous for playing CURLY in "THE THREE STOOGES", was known to all as a protector of dogs. Curly's contract with Columbia Pictures included a clause that allowed his dogs to accompany him on the studio lot. Columbia limited it to no more than two dogs at a time, this due to the puppies' unplanned on-camera appearances from time to time. You can still see those surprise dog on set invasions in the first few short films. Typically surrounded by various dogs, Curly was known to come home with a stray dog ​​and foster it until he could find it a permanent home. When the Stooges were out on the road, Curly took it upon himself to find a new home for at least one stray dog ​​in every town they visited. Curly is estimated to have saved and rescued more than 5,000 dogs in his lifetime. This makes him a man ahead of his time, with a very admirable concern for man's best friend.

A MAGICAL ending to the story from last night. At the Oscars I reconnected with my friend, John Travolta. We starred together in the movie PERFECT back in 1984. I had already left the Dolby theater last night after honoring Betty White and was on my way home when someone texted me a photo of John holding little mac & cheese in the green room before his presentation of the best actor Oscar. I thought it was so beautiful to see him with her and then today I found out that he and his son, Ben have adopted beautiful little mac & cheese and are taking her home today. It is an emotional end and a perfect tribute to Betty White and it shines a light and AMPLIFIES the message that heroes who, like Betty, and Chad from Paw Works] and Nancy from and the team at and the hundreds of thousands of other rescues, who love and support ANIMALS, that rescuing animals and offering them shelter from the storm of life and a warm and loving home is one of life's most important actions we humans can take!

OSPR responding to reports of oil in federal waters several miles offshore of Huntington Beach. Multiple reports of sheen were made to Cal OES. OSPR crew on water surveilling area. Source, volume & oil type under investigation. Cleanup contractors being mobilized. More to come.

It really doesn’t matter if your dog is friendly or not.

What matters is that you don’t take the choice away from another owner (and their dog) as to who they interact with.

There can be so many reasons why a dog and their owner need space from you and your dog.

Please allow them that choice 💙

After discovering The Pet Place on TV years ago John and Pepper Hall became Pet Place supporters and added us to the many Rescue Groups and Shelters that they supported and volunteered with that include Seal Beach Animal Care, The Pet Food Bank, OC Small Paws, TLC Rescue and WAGS in Westminster. John has been Master of Ceremonies for several fundraising events for Animal Assistance League and Second Chance Rescue. John and Pepper are equal opportunity rescuers with several Cats and a Dog in their family. Their ongoing support has helped pay for veterinary care for animals in rescues, as well as for pets belonging to individuals who cannot afford their veterinary bills. A chunk of ice 20 times bigger than Manhattan has broken off the Brunt Ice Shelf in Antarctica. Scientists from the British Antarctic Survey first detected cracks in the shelf ten years ago.

You see, Gianna has MULTIPLE fractures in both hind legs AND a displaced hip! We were shocked when we saw the xrays! How did this sweet little girl end up in such a critically ill condition?
