News from LiCers for LICers. Your daily Long Island City news source. Our main focus is to give you the news surrounding Long Island City. Represent!
Lifelong resident of Long Island City, the owner of this page has a passion for this neighborhood that stretches back to multiple generations of family history. Most often, at best, you'll find most page owners of websites dedicated to LIC news to be recent residents living here only in the past ten years. Witnessing, firsthand, the evolution of this neighborhood from an industrial factory zone to
a booming residential community, you will find all the information you need to know about Long Island City through the eyes of passionate dedicated people who not only call this place home because they love it but because it's the only home we've known. We do miss our Mom & Pop shops the most, sadly most people in the recent years, never had the chance to meet and shop in this era of our community's history. There's a lot of sites out there to get Long Island City news and we love all the other cites representing our LIC but in the end would you want to get your news from someone who doesn't even live in LIC?

BRING FARMER'S MARKET TO LIC!
I asked for your suggestion in my earlier post about what events and things I can help to organize and there was an overwhelming demand for a Farmer's Market!
I spoke to Rob Basch, President of Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, and he told me that he has already started a discussion to partner with GrowNYC to bring a farmer's market to LIC.
To help with Rob's discussion and the likelihood of seeing it becoming a reality, I would like to ask you help and sign a petition requesting GrowNYC to consider LIC as their next expansion site!

Also, for those who are not aware Hunters Point Parks Conservancy (HPPC) is the non-profit group that organizes all the free events in the park. Check their event calendar for all the programs and help by donating!
