Okay, FB Friends, I could use your help. I was on a zoom meeting with fellow author, Helen Starbuck. She is working on a new murder mystery novel for her Annie Collins Series. Do you have a buddy, friend, family member who was a police officer around 1985-ish? After our zoom, Helen sent me this email. Can you give her a bit of help?

Janine,
Great connecting, I always enjoy our conversations. I've attached the front covers of book 1 (Mad Hatter) and book 3 (Burden). Book 1 is where Frost first appears and in Book 3 he plays a major role in trying to find Ian after Angel's shooting at the wedding reception.
What I need for the new standalone Frost story is to talk to a cop who worked patrol in 1984-1985 in Denver. I want to know what it was like communicating with dispatch in an emergency when access to the cruiser and its radio wasn't possible. For example, nowadays they have handheld radios, Bluetooth (?) radios attached to their vest, or cell phones, I'm not sure a handheld radio was available in 1984. If they were, I'd like to talk about how they used them, and if they didn't have those, I'd like to find out how they connected with dispatch for help (e.g., a shooting victim, active shooter, need for an ambulance, need for backup).
If any of your contacts could/would help or could connect me with someone who was a cop at the time, that'd be wonderful.
