As part of the Integrated W**d Management Plan, 300 goats are hard at work cleaning up broadleaves and eating the Feral Rye seedheads at the Mayhoffer property near Superior. Next on their munching tour are Harney Lastoka near Louisville, Twin Lakes near Gunbarrel, Lagerman Agricultural Preserve and the Keyes property near Longmont. All these properties fall outside the Bighorn sheep protection area. You may see them working near you! 🐐

Hey there! When you head out fishing, please remember to collect all your hooks and lines. It’s important for our feathered friends! Discarded or lost fishing line can pose a serious threat to birds. They can get tangled up, which makes it hard for them to move, eat, or escape from predators. Sadly, some birds might even swallow hooks or lines, leading to serious health issues.

In 2025, we witnessed several heartbreaking cases in Longmont where birds were injured or had to be euthanized due to fishing line and hooks left behind. By taking your fishing lines and hooks with you, you’re helping protect these beautiful creatures.
