GOKU vs SUPERMAN
Since I've been liking and commenting on content my algorithm has been showing me this again. so I figured I'd weigh in since is probably my biggest hero.
On Goku:
He's from a far away planet that was destroyed in a cataclysm. He came to earth to destroy it but was hit on the head when he was young, forgot his mission and became good. Goku's weaknesses has always been his ego, his tail, and his hunger. Typically, Goku likes to fight and he loves a challenge, so he has a habit of giving his enemies advantages like healing them etc.. When Goku was young he had a tail which made him transform into a giant ape during full moons. His tail was permanently removed to save the world from being destroyed by him. When his enemies would grab his tail he would become incapacitated, he's no longer got a tail weakness. He used to become instantly useless if he became hungry during a fight, he would freeze and fall over and refuse to fight. In his adult years he's lost this weakness, being able to fight long periods of time without stopping to eat. Goku has several transformations that take him to higher and higher levels of strength and energy. Goku has regularly lost fights because he has limited himself and his powers so that the fight can be more even. He regularly has been seen training in environments in upwards of 400 times earth gravity WITH WEIGHTS. Goku has successfully escaped from black holes and survived exploding planets. can breathe in upper atmosphere and survive in space for a short period of time due to his increased lung capacity and ki. (energy) Goku is seen as a spectrum of lawful good, to chaotic good. Goku loves even his enemies this is showcased in his group which is almost EXCLUSIVELY comprised of past enemies.
On Supes:
Superman has a weakness of kryptonite, he's made strong by our solar systems sun, he's got super strength, super speed, super durability, and laser vision. Superman is from krypton a far off planet that was destroyed in a cataclysm. he came to earth and was raised by earth parents. has a secret identity Clark Kent. Superman has a few feats that put him significantly above Goku in terms of raw power and durability, particularly when considering certain versions of Superman. These include feats like holding a black hole, bench-pressing the weight of the Earth for an extended period, and surviving Supernovas. While Goku is immensely powerful and has impressive feats of his own, these specific feats showcase a level of strength and durability that Goku hasn't demonstrated. Superman is usually seen as lawful good exclusively but he has rarely been seen to go chaotic good in a snap.
I'm sure there's more, but my knowledge is limited on complete lore. I'm hoping for a discussion. in my opinion I don't think Superman would have ever fought a guy as strong or as skilled as Goku. I would love to see Superman test the depths of his strength and power against Goku (I'm sure Goku would love to see it too LMAO)
The fight:
Goku would most certainly be the one to seek out Superman and ask him to fight. this is history speaking for itself, Goku would seek out super man and be like" Heyyyy I heard you were pretty strong, wanna fight?"
First off, Goku would set the rules and pick the spot away from people where they can fight hard and be safe from hurting people. Since Superman has no transformations like Super Saiyan(1,2, 3 or,4, SSgod, AUI) goku would likely limit himself to his base form to make the match more fair. this doesn't rule out kaioken. It also doesn't rule out transforming when he sees superman can surpass him easily
Goku would never use kryptonite against Superman, unless Superman was evil, and EVEN THEN Goku would probably not use it because all he wants is a good fight.
The comparison between their fighting skills, I feel is a big mismatch, allow me to explain; Superman doesn't really have much history of learning how to fight like a person fights a person, Superman has been Superman since he was born.
we also have to consider that both characters are from earth and that they exist in the same universe and since Goku was a tiny boy he's been training himself to fight other people with extreme skill, and to win with extreme prejudice. Goku was the champion of the world martial arts tournament as a boy even before he could fly. that being said Goku has had to train himself from the time of a child to get his power, I feel like Goku is more knowledgeable about what his powers and weaknesses are and has been known to be a brilliant strategist when he needs to be.
Superman hasn't really trained his power, this is both a positive AND a negative, since Superman's strength is constant he's only ever as strong as the people he's fighting, Superman rises to occasions, Goku is the occasion. this is why a fight with Goku is likely to make superman explore the furthest depths of his strength.
The details of the fight are irrelevant, it would likely be just as electrifying of a fight as any other DBZ villain or as with Vegeta himself. Goku would never kill Superman, there is no evil in Supermans' heart, Goku would likely bring Superman to the full extent of his power just so he could see it. Goku is honest and if superman exhibits more power than him in his base form, Goku would push it to the next limit, and the next limit, until he's maxed Superman out. If goku can go no higher then he will concede the fight and let Superman be the strongest while saying "I'll keep training and we can do this again sometime". But if Goku finds himself to be stronger, he will very quickly defeat Superman and then tell him " You're so incredible! I want you to keep training and fight me again in the future" and throw him a senzu bean. Goku would also offer to be Supermans training partner. While if Superman beat Goku, Goku would heal and be stronger than before he got beat because that's just the nature of saiyan DNA. Goku will come back stronger even if he doesn't train a lick. I also believe that Superman wouldn't kill Goku, ever. Even if Goku accidentally killed Superman, he would just wish him back to life lol that's just how Goku is. Goku has even wished the most evil character in the universe back, but to be born as a good person, then Goku trained him to be a hero.
In conclusion, while I feel like the fight would be irrelevant (I.E. there would be no real reason to fight or a real reason to have a real winner), it WOULD be the most amazing fight in the history of superhero fights. While I have always loved Superman, I love Goku more than any other comic book hero. EVER. I would like to say GOKU would win, even though the net gain for both heroes from the fight would be IMMENSE.
(Most of the time I don't include Goku as my favorite amongst other comic book heroes, because Goku is from Manga, Hes an anime character)
