Hi Everyone! 👋🏻
This Wednesday is our last meeting of the year, so we’re having a celebration for all of the amazing work The Script has published this year. Everyone who has been involved with The Script is invited! Whether you are on our staff currently, have been a part of our staff in the past, have submitted a story to our site, have submitted photographs, or really been involved in any way with our publication, come by! We’re holding it in the courtyard between the WLC and the Library, with Chipotle catered too! We hope to see you there for our final meeting of the year 🦉📰

Please consider attending the both the Movie Screening of Counted out in Appreciation Hall (room 1501) from 11am-1pm as well as Tutoring Town Hall meeting taking place Friday, March 14th from 1-2pm in room 4501.

As college budgetary changes have impacted programming and resources across campus, STEM Center and WLC Staff have been working hard to have it have little to no impact on our current LRC tutoring models which you all know consist of peer and faculty tutoring staff. Due to the cost of faculty tutoring staff in comparison to student tutoring staff, the college has pushed for our programs to move into peer tutoring only models. However, the presence of faculty tutors is a very important and crucial factor in the success of our services. In efforts to continue advocating for our current model to stay intact, there is a meeting with the college president and other college administrators to voice concerns.

You are invited to join this discussion and invite friends that have also made use of STEM and WLC tutoring. We need student voices present to share their experiences as to why it is critical to keep faculty tutor presence across our services.

Come join us tomorrow as we invite Alan Chazaro to speak on his experiences as a published writer and journalist! Alan is a writer for KQED, a published author, and a Foothill-De Anza alumnus who has graciously offered to share his advice, and answer questions relating to his longstanding career in journalism and his experience navigating the industry.

To accommodate this event, we will be meeting in Room 5502, from 2-3 PM this Thursday February 6th. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into life as a professional writer, and we hope to see you there!! 🦉📰

We at The Script are incredibly passionate about journalism, working directly with the journalism professors here at Foothill and the students enrolled in their courses, and can confidently say this class will be worth your while! Although the quarter has already begun, the course has a late start so there is still time to sign up for JRNL 22A for THIS WINTER QUARTER!!

The CRN for the online section is 32416 and the CRN for the in-person section which meets Tuesday/Thursday 1:30-3:10pm is 32417

The class begins on January 20th and we hope to see you there! 🦉📰
