Made possible by the National Endowment of the Arts, VOX commissioned The Suffrage Cantata, a new choral work by Andrea Ramsey, that uses visual and aural storytelling with words from the women who led the suffrage movement.

Originally intended to be shared in a live event, we had to record the music from home. It was fun to dust off my gear but the recording portion was not. Singing in a choir without the choir seems to trigger my imposter syndrome.

Pay what you can to see it and watch it before it disappears at midnight on 11/3!

I had the pleasure of working on an amazing show with artivists that skipped the gatekeepers, said $ #@& Covid, and created media that lifts black and LGBTQIA+ voices. It's inspiring to see creative minds like Larry Powell, Tell Me A Story Productions, and Walk the Night create a hybrid of art, community, awareness, safety and support wrapped in a much needed message via Zoom and black Hollywood magic.
