It has been a little while since I last sent a newsletter, and a lot has happened.

I’m currently in Mexico City on what has turned into a self directed creative retreat. I’ve been taking workshops, making bracelets again for the first time since elementary school, and remembering that creativity doesn’t always have to be productive. Sometimes it just needs to be joyful.

In this newsletter I also share some recent projects I’ve been fortunate to work on, including The Secret Life of TK Dutes, So Glad You Asked, Say That With Love, and my new role as Creative Director for Hella Chisme.

I also have one small favor to ask. I pitched a session for Podcast Movement about how I turned my podcast into a career in podcast production. If it resonates with you, I’d be grateful for your vote.

Thanks for always supporting whatever creative adventure I find myself on next.

I have been thinking a lot about Afrofuturism, legacy, and what it looks like to keep learning no matter your age or stage. Seeing the Sun Ra Arkestra perform at the Guggenheim recently reminded me that devotion to your work can live far beyond you.

In this issue, I reflect on that experience and share a podcast I produced with ABF Creative for the National Black Child Development Institute called Say That With Love. It is a space for imagining what becomes possible for Black children when care is centered.

You can read this issue or listen to it. I am now sharing audio versions of my newsletters as well.

If you are in a reflective place or thinking about the future you are helping shape, I hope you spend some time with this one.

First week of 2026. Checking in.

Last year I started using affirmations more intentionally, especially around money and creative work. As a podcast producer, some of those affirmations made me uncomfortable, which told me I had some unlearning to do.

One small shift was turning my computer password into an affirmation. Something I type every day became a reminder of what I was calling in.

By the end of the year, all of my paid opportunities were creative. Producing podcasts. Supporting other creatives and organizations through meaningful work.

Sharing this for anyone who needs the reminder that creative work is valuable and worthy of support.

What are you affirming for yourself this year?

Sharing some tools that have helped me last year, and I am committing to this year.

Episode 25 is live.

This one feels like a deep breath.

I am reflecting on the year. The high highs, the low lows, the lessons that stayed with me, and the reminder that trusting myself and knowing my value continues to change everything.

I also share what I am working on next, what I am calling in for 2026, and a few things that are inspiring me right now.

If you are closing out the year with honesty and intention, I think you will feel this one.

Read Episode 25.

Taking stock of the highs, the lows, and what I’m carrying forward
