Adding some curve appeal to the backyard! 🌿 Clean lines and a custom shape really transform a standard patio into a standout feature. We went with a smooth, dark finish to give this outdoor space a modern, polished look that flows perfectly with the landscape. Ready for those summer gatherings! ☀️✨

Getting it right from the ground up! 🛠️ Proper drainage is the unsung hero of any long-lasting concrete project. By installing an integrated system now, we ensure water is managed correctly, protecting the new slab and the adjacent retaining wall for years to come. No pooling, no cracking, just durable results. 💧💪

Just got our new driveway poured and everything looks great… but there’s one thing that’s been bugging me.

There’s a noticeable drop from the main garage area down to the side parking pad, and that’s where most visitors end up pulling in. My wife works from home, so we’ve got people coming through all day, and unless you already know it’s there, that edge can sneak up on you.

We tried marking it with those reflector stakes, but honestly… they already got run over once 😅

I’m debating whether to add some kind of curb or edge barrier, but I don’t want to ruin the clean look of the driveway either.

Curious what others have done in a situation like this—something that actually makes it obvious without turning it into an eyesore?

I genuinely can’t decide if I’m being too picky here or if this would bother other people too.

We just paid a little over $11,000 for this new driveway, and now that it’s finished… I keep staring at it wondering why it feels unfinished.

The concrete work itself looks clean.
No complaints there.

But with the two narrow strips and the grass running straight down the center, it almost looks less like a driveway and more like two sidewalks leading to the garage.

The contractor told us this style is becoming more popular because it uses less concrete, drains better, and still gives a “modern” look.

Maybe that’s true… but right now I can’t stop seeing it as a driveway missing its middle section.

I honestly thought it would feel wider and more connected once everything was done, especially for the price.

And now I’m stuck in that awkward place where I can’t tell if I just need time to get used to it… or if it actually looks strange.

Be honest — if you spent this much on a driveway and ended up with this design, would it throw you off too? ???

I paid $10,700 for this driveway, and I’m trying to understand the finish.

It almost looks like the concrete is “flowing” away from the garage, with noticeable, uneven trowel marks that give it more of a decorative look than a clean, uniform surface.

It’s not what I expected for a standard driveway.

Is this typical finishing work, or something I should bring up with the contractor🤔🤔

Nothing beats the feeling of a project done right. 🛠️ After a rough experience with the last crew, I decided to take matters into my own hands to make sure these lines were actually straight. No 'melting' into the dirt this time!
