We are thrilled to welcome composer and songwriter Jake Monaco (he/him) to the Spectra family! His recent credits include National Geographic Disney+’s ‘Incredible Animal Journeys’; Pixar’s series ‘Cars on the Road’ as well as Paramount+’s ‘Jerry and Marge Go Large’. Tangelene Bolton has composed the original score for 'Surrender', the debut feature film from director Jess Dang which will have its world premiere as the opening night film at the 2025 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. The film will premiere to a sold out theater on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Directors Guild of America. The film stars Andrea Bang, Cici Lau, Fiona Fu, James Yi, Keiko Agena, and Nozipho McLean.

In this poignant and gritty debut feature film, 'Surrender' follows Naomi, a young Asian-American woman whose life is disrupted by her secret gambling addiction. As she navigates her struggles, Naomi confronts feelings of denial and shame, which affect her relationships with family, colleagues, and herself. Ultimately, she reaches a breaking point and must decide between a path of destruction or one of self-love.

‘Group Therapy', the feature documentary scored by Brad Oberhofer, is now streaming on Prime Video! The Hartbeat-produced film directed by Neil Berkeley has its world premiere at the 2024 Tribeca Festival and later screened as an official selection at the 2024 AFI FEST Film Festival.

The film chronicles a group therapy session — led by actor Neil Patrick Harris — with Tig Notaro, Mike Birbiglia, Gary Gulman, Atsuko Okatsuka, Nicole Byer, and Miss London Hughes, as they discuss the relationship between their professional and mental health journeys.

We are thrilled to welcome composer Michael Paraskevas to the Spectra family! Most recently, he scored the Disney+/Marvel series ‘Agatha All Along’, starring Kathryn Hahn, alongside Christophe Beck. Michael’s musical fingerprints can be found across a wide spectrum of genres, including projects such as ‘Hawkeye’, ‘El Tonto Por Cristo’, ‘Unspoken’, ‘Frozen II’, ‘This World Won’t Break’, and the Emmy-nominated score to ‘WandaVision’.

We are thrilled to welcome composer Jon Ekstrand to the Spectra family! Jon's notable recent scores include Sony Pictures/Marvel's 'Morbius', the Netflix series 'The Helicopter Heist', and Columbia Pictures' 'Life'. He regularly collaborates with director Daniel Espinosa and has collaborated with notable directors such as Lasse Hallström, Janus Metz, and Gustav Möller. Jon has also collaborated with Spectra client Rebekka Karijord on a number of films like Amazon's 'All The Old Knives' and HULU's 'I Am Greta', and they look forward to opportunities to continue these collaborations.

Jon's latest feature documentary, 'Dear Tomorrow' (dir. Kaspar Astrup Schröder), will premiere at the upcoming SXSW Film Festival in the Documentary Spotlight section.

Rebekka Karijord has released her original score soundtrack to the Swedish film 'Raptures', directed by Jon Blahed. The soundtrack is now streaming all platforms via OONA Recordings. The film follows Rakel, a strict Christian believer, living in the far north of Sweden in the 1930’s. When her husband Teodor forms a sectarian movement, with directions straight from God, she has no choice but to join the increasingly explicit cult.
