CHURCH IN BOKI BURNT BY FIRE 🔥

St. Mary Quasi Parish Katchuan Irruan in Boki, Ogoja Diocese (Nigeria) attacked late hours of Thursday, February 26th 2026. The altar, sacred vestments, the priest's car and that of his guest burnt. Pray for the Church and for our brothers!

A High Court in Calabar, Cross River State, has sentenced a 39-year-old man, Usual Etim Udo, to life imprisonment for r@ping an eight-year-old girl.

The convict, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, was found guilty of r**e guilty after the court concluded proceedings in the matter.

The incident occurred in March 2025 in Calabar.

The judge, Hon. Justice Blessing Egwu, handed down the sentence on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

The continuous neglect of major highways in the state has become a thing of concern and we mustn't keep quiet anymore. The government must rise to its responsibilities.

As part of his administration's commitment to expanding access to electricity across rural communities, the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has successfully extended power supply to Unebu Community in Ugep, Yakurr. BREAKING NEWS:

The Cross River State House of Assembly has removed the Vice Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Idi Yakubu , following allegations of gross misconduct.

The decision was reached after a voice vote in which 19 lawmakers voted in favour of Yakubu’s removal, one member abstained, while five members were absent.

OGOJA CENTRAL MOSQUE GETS A NEW LOOK

As the Ogoja Muslim community sets out to rebrand the old Central Mosque which was built in the 1960s, the Sarkin Hausa of Ogoja, Alhaji Yakubu Adamu Asaba 11 has constituted project committees to champion the construction process of the new edifice.

Community members were drawn from different parts of the community and in the diaspora. The need for a befitting mosque for the Muslim community was initiated to decongest the usually busy Mission Road during Friday prayers. The proposed building is designed as a one storey structure.

The committee is mandated to propose a suitable date for the Launching and to reach out to others/Muslim Ummah at home and in Diaspora to honour the epoch occasion.

The girl who falsely accused David of gr**e and later apologized has been ARRESTED .

The matter has been charged to court and David is now ASKING FOR 15 Million Naira for damages . His lawyers have vowed not to let the matter go till the girl pays .

Sad thing ? The girl is from a broke family 🤦‍♂️💔. School fee Dey pass them .

Moral lesson : Before you want to start a fight , think about hospital bills .
