Should I throw the truck away? Or is this a non issue? Alternator tab broke off. 98 gmc 1500 sierra. I was replacing the alternator and I was trying to push back the little bushing that holds the alternator tightly in place, but the whole tab snapped off. Do I throw the car away? Or is this a minor issue? will the bolts hold it in place without the tab? will this make it to work tomorrow? I have jb weld at my work and more tools. will jb weld hold it?
pleas help! Thanks!

Accidentally shaved off a bit of steering knuckle when cutting off old ball joint nut with angle grinder Hey, I’m fixing the suspension on my be**er Seat Ibiza III 1.4 MPI 2003y. I had to cut out the ball joint nut after fighting with it for half a day (was still original surprisingly). Unfortunately, I think I messed up because I accidentally shaved off a bit of knuckle material from where the nut goes.
At first I thought it isn’t a big deal because the ball joint is mostly held with the tapered part that goes into the knuckle, and the nut is nylock.
But when I torqued everything to spec I noticed it’s actually touching only more or less 2/3rds of the surface of the steering knuckle.
Do I need to get a replacement knuckle? It’s not that expensive but is going to be pain in the ass to replace considering how bad the ball joint nut was…
I undo the nut to see if I could file it a bit more flat, but the ball joint is stuck in the knuckle again, so it seems to be clamped well, despite that mistake.

The part od the knuckle where the nut goes is slightly angled by design, meaning it’s not parallel to the floor.
Please tell me the truth if it’s salvageable or if I should get a new knuckle. Friend told me things like that happen when working on rusty old cars and it’s generally fine.
If it’s fixable, should I try to file it a bit more even and put a washer under the nut to make the contact area between the nut and knuckle better?

What did I do wrong - control arm replacement 2018 Honda Odyssey. I replaced both the lower control arms and right bearing as well as pads and rotors. Now, when the car turns left or right sharply, or goes over bumps there is a very loud clanking noise from the subframe area. I made sure to torque control arm and sway bar bolts with vehicle weight ON the control arms. What did I do wrong...?

Any advice? I’ve had enough, I really have. I’ve been struggling with this broken stud for days and now this has happened.
Points before they’re raised:
- No, I cannot get this fl**ge off without removing the engine and gearbox from the car. Which is a massive, massive job on the S6.
- The fl**ge is stainless steel.
- I have very little access, 450mm from underside of the car to the ground.
- The reason for this was a snapped stud, no access to hold a spanner, or socket on the other side of the fl**ge.
- Before I get any criticism regarding the broken tap, I’m well aware of my error. I feel s**t enough, I just need to finish this today so that I can have my life back.
- I have a compressor and air hammer, if it’s possible that the tap could disintegrate without causing too much more damage.
- Audi S6 2006 5.2L V10, not that this is relevant to the issue at hand.
