The second season of The Day of the Jackal tightens its grip on the spy-thriller genre with more psychological depth and sharper betrayals. Redmayne delivers a haunting performance as the titular assassin, this time unraveling both professionally and personally.
While bullets fly and alliances shift, the real tension lies in Jackal’s unraveling identity. His past haunts him — from a fractured marriage with Nuria (Úrsula Corberó) to the looming betrayal by Timothy Winthrop (Charles Dance, chilling as ever). Season 2 leans into emotional warfare as much as covert ops, making for a richer, more grounded experience.
