Kalínagu Voyaging on the road through songs I happen to channel It’s a project that’s subject to change and may include one person or many. Learning to unlearn.

Kalinagu is a new project named in ode to my afro-indigenous mestizo ancestry to create a space to share my music with you. Coming from a place where not all that glitters is gold, I plan to share authentic sounds that came from my roots in Los Angeles and life on the road as a modern, traveling bard & street performer since 2016 till now. As a Kalinagu descendant, I would like to honor this name

by sharing a vibe that stems off influences from multiple cultures & genres that I’ve grown up around to my roots in the drums & the polyrhythmic sounds of my ancestors. A nomadic specimen sharing a spectrum of sounds with the universe & anyone receptively attuned to the channels which flow. Flowing, clashing & molding with the times like water. Love in the known & unknown. Embracing eternity in sounds through the canvas of now. Enjoy.

Hey y’all, I’m back.🍃

After some explorations of the mind & diving into the depths of the fungi teachers, weeding out things from my life that no longer serve me & forgiving those who’ve hurt me while also forgiving myself for those I’ve hurt in my life. I finally feel like I’m in a space where I can express it freely & let it go.

None of us owe each other any obligation but due to my last story, I asked for help which was very vulnerable for me to do & I feel a certain sense of obligation to report it. I got a new deep cycle battery for my vehicle and some food as well. I’m currently saving up for an alternator & also to be able to pay a mechanic but thankfully I’m in a space where I can move my car & save up from street performing. Thank you all for the support & donations. This was my first time asking for help online in 7+ years of living full time on the road & it truly showed me the support I have which has value far beyond any amount of money & it left me feeling held & appreciated by all the communities I’m tied to (*this last sentence specifically goes a special shout out directly to the Austin PD who took my IG handle after breaking my 1st amendment right. I’m not afraid of you, see me as I am & embrace me, I hold no fear…*) Anyways, it taught me another level of vulnerability & being open to receiving & reciprocity. So in addition to so many reasons why I live the way I do, you’ve given me another reason to do this, not just for me but for us. For uplifting the community however I can.

After I fix my car, I’ll be hitting the road but my plans shifted and I’m traveling to the east coast to dive into community out there & to also explore the spirit of where the people of this country are at, as an amateur cultural anthropologist. Those who I told I was gonna go to Lake Tahoe, I’m planning to be there mid July, god willing. I’ll be starting off with New Orleans, then Alabama, Mississippi, Nashville, Louisville, Indiana, maybe Chicago & Detroit to see Motown Records 😍, then Philly, NYC, Toronto, maybe Vermont & Maine, then DC, Asheville, ATL, then back west through Colorado, Taos, Utah, & ultimately Cali & Oregon.

Taoseños and anyone in northern New Mexico near Taos, NM! Come by for my first performance of a new project, Kalínagu.

🙌🏽🐉🌿🏔️

I have lots of roots in many communities that I love and cherish & this community of Taos, New Mexico really has been one of the most quick absorbing places that have ever pulled me in my life. I remember getting here on late September knowing what I wanted but not exactly sure how to get it. The universe took care of the rest. Come catch me for my last gig in town at the old Montgomery tonight. I I open up starting at 7pm. Come through if your free! Doors open at 6pm! Much love.
