ABL Client Spotlight: David Lapham, Storyboard Artist

Bio:
David Lapham is a storyboard artist and the Eisner winning co-creator of the seminal comic book series Stray Bullets. Known for its cinematic storytelling and emotionally resonant depiction of people struggling to live in the underbelly of society, Stray Bullets, is considered one of the great noir books of the medium.

Lapham began his career in 1991 at Valiant Comics where he co-created many of their original characters including Harbinger, Shadowman, and Rai. David and his wife and collaborator Maria Lapham started the small press label, El Capitán Books, where they first published Stray Bullets. He has worked with , DC , Dark Horse Comics , Image, Bad Idea, IDW, , Boom, , Guillermo Del Toro, the Wachowskis and others. Lapham has worked on many of comics most notable characters (Spider Man, Batman, Superman…) as well as authored and co-authored other creator owned works, including Murder Me Dead, Silverfish, Young Liars, Lodger, and Underheist.

In 2016, after a hiatus, Stray Bullets returned under the Image imprint for a 50 issue run, surpassing the original 40. David now lives in Arizona with his wife and their five children. He works remotely, but is open to travel worldwide!
