Is this the America you are proud to call home? Recent years have shown us some of the best and the worst moments with some of our country men. Never in our life times did we ever think we would see a border patrol officer chasing a man down on a horse using a whip.. What year is this? 2021? It can't be! Because migrants seeking safety in our country is the principles in which this great country was formed. The statue of liberty bears this message "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door! " I guess that doesn't ring true for our Haitian brothers and sisters who risked life and limb to get away from a country that suffered an earthquake, their president was recently assassinated , so a political coup is happening now,, during a pandemic in the middle of hurricane season☹️. If you are not outraged by the treatment and indignity put upon our Haitian brethren then you are a part of what's wrong with America.
