This is a well-preserved second-hand 1330G lathe that I picked up some time ago.
I actually finished making the lathe angle dial quite a while ago. But without the proper graduation markings, it was never very convenient to use.
Then the xTool F2 Ultra came along, and I thought — it’s finally time to upgrade all those little details.
The original lathe tailstock quill is a #2 Morse taper with factory distance markings. But as you probably know, a #2 Morse taper simply doesn’t offer the same strength as a #3.
So I made a new #3 Morse taper quill, but that meant losing the original distance markings.
There are also plenty of other small things I’ve been putting up with for years — missing graduations on the handwheels, a worn-out thread chart, and other little details that make everyday machining less convenient.
Fortunately, with the xTool F2 Ultra in the workshop, fixing these small problems has become surprisingly easy.
