📉 Midday Market Recap – July 31st

If you’re wondering why the market feels extra vicious today, here’s the breakdown:
1. 📆 End-of-month profit taking – Big banks and hedge funds are locking in their July gains.
2. 📊 Earnings euphoria yesterday – Meta & Microsoft took us to new all-time highs… but today? Retracement city.
3. 💣 Tariffs hit tomorrow (Aug 1) – And not just any tariffs,inflationary taxes that make life and business more expensive across the board.

Here’s the problem:
Jobs are down. Wages haven’t kept up. Savings are gone. And now we’re about to pay 30% more for goods indefinitely.

Ford already took a $29 million hit this earnings season from tariffs alone. If that’s a preview of what’s coming… we may be entering a very red season.

Yesterday was the rocket.
Today’s the recoil.
And August? Might be pain.

Watch your setups. And breathe.
This isn’t just about price action.
It’s macro, baybeeee.

Challenge Day 2: A Tale of Two Accounts

Today humbled me.

I woke up exhausted. Overslept. Still had sleep in my eyes.
But I didn’t want to leave any money on the table—so I traded my primary account.
✅ 4 trades
✅ 1 red, 3 green
✅ $1,700 in profit

Then I tried to “keep the streak going” by switching to my NinjaTrader challenge account.
✅ First trade: green
✅ Second trade: green
❌ Third trade: wiped out everything.

(-$3,500+)

All my profits from yesterday and this morning—gone.

Why?
Because I wanted to round up.
Because I wanted a perfect story.
Because I let the fear of loss and the desire to impress take over.

And that feeling—“I have to win”—ruined me.
Two accounts. Two outcomes.
One intention grounded, one driven by ego.

The difference?
My primary account was focused on sustainable, micro growth.
My challenge account? I felt like I had something to prove—to myself and to strangers.

It hurts.
But this didn’t happen because I don’t know how to trade.
It happened because I let pressure override presence.

Still in the challenge.
But not proud of today.
We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

📈 Day 1 of the $25K Trading Challenge: $2,751 Profit 💥

Let me be real:
I didn’t stick to my rules today.

I told myself I’d take 3 trades max…
I ended up taking 12. 🙃

Nerves kicked in.
NQ didn’t do what I expected at the open.
FOMO snuck in. I chased a few moves.
But here’s the part I’m proud of:

🎯 The trade idea I mapped out pre-market?
The one I marked up with a clear entry, stop loss, and take profit?

That trade filled… while I wasn’t even watching.
I set it up. Walked away.
And it played out perfectly without me touching a thing.

That’s growth.

Not because I was perfect today
but because I trusted my plan enough to step back.

This challenge isn’t about ego or showing off.
It’s about proving to myself that my strategy works

if I have the discipline to follow it.

I’ll be live trading this all week.
