Some records feel less like a “release” and more like a transmission from another dimension.

Ruido Tovar is Meridian Brothers and Mexican Institute of Sound digging into the psychedelic tropical universe of Rigo Tovar and rebuilding it with synths, tape textures, strange rhythms, mutant cumbia, and pure studio experimentation. Beck shows up too — not as some gimmick feature, but as part of the weird chemistry holding the whole thing together.

This is the kind of music made by people who actually love records. You can hear the obsession in every detail: the dusty grooves, the analog synths, the absurd humor, the hypnotic repetition, the moments that sound completely wrong until suddenly they sound perfect.
