San Francisco indie rock and experimental music label Cubby Control Records announces the release of the self-titled debut album by Thriel (pronounced “Threel”). Thriel was formed as an offshoot of REPTIEL, which includes members of seminal San Francisco bands The Cubby Creatures, Thee More Shallows and The Druggles.

Not ones to shy away from controversy with their mix of punk, indie and psych rock, Thriel takes on such thorny subjects as the fentanyl crisis in San Francisco, artificial intelligence, the billionaire space race, lab leaks, nuclear war and the Delphi murders, thus making themselves musici non grata across the political spectrum in their native San Francisco.

Thriel was recorded during 2024 and 2025 at Feast or Famine Records in San Francisco by outsider producer/engineer/musician Jai Young Kim who is responsible for some of the most subterranean underground music in San Francisco history.

Marzoña has been creating music for more than 15 years, combining his influences, ranging from Arctic Monkeys to Childish Gambino to The Beatles to Broadway musicals and creating a unique fusion of sounds with ultra sincere (and sometimes irony laden) lyrics, resulting in thousands of streams. From and based in Los Angeles, Marzoña is a proud Filipino-American musician and continues to passionately and energetically play his songs around the city.

Inspired by the hits of Prince/MJ/Timberlake with Nile Rodgers’s style, I wanted to write lyrics that show a facade of confidence and nonchalantness that crumbles revealing my sincerity of just wanting to be around this girl. I always try to write a mini story arc in my songs, and I think this is one of my most sweet and effective.

AXID is a 4-piece pop-punk band out of Long Beach built on friendship, randomness and straight-up energy. What started as two friends messing around and posting covers on TikTok quickly turned into something real. After early lineup changes and having to rebuild the band from scratch, everything finally clicked bringing together Izel David, Aiden Julian, Matthew Lopez, and Matthew Mcnece.

Their sound is fast, loud and unapologetically fun driven by a high-energy style that’s meant to be felt just as much as it’s heard. AX!D doesn’t overthink it, they make music that hits, connects and keeps people moving. Whether it’s their chaotic beginnings, finding band members in everyday places like school or turning random ideas into something memorable (even their name came from flipping “Acid” into “AXID”), everything about them feels raw and real.

More than just the music, AXID represents a new generation of bands growing up! At the same time, they keep things grounded believing music should stay human, emotional and personal.

Still early in their journey, AXID is building something that’s all about energy, connection and having fun on stage, online and everywhere in between.
