One of the front legs on my old engine hoist had started cracking around the caster mounting section. Whenever I rolled it across the workshop, I could see that corner flex slightly. I stripped the damaged area back to clean steel and fabricated a reinforcement plate from 1/4 inch steel. I fitted the plate across the weak section, welded it along the edges and added two short ribs running back into the main leg. I made sure the caster mounting surface stayed flat before finishing the welds. After everything cooled, I reinstalled the caster and rolled the unloaded hoist around the shop to check the repair. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

One mounting arm on this old engine stand had started bending. Rebuilt it from 1/2 inch plate and added a reinforcement rib and gusset.

The support brace on my old basketball hoop had cracked where it joined the main pole, and the backboard started shaking every time the ball hit the rim. I cleaned the cracked joint back to bare steel and pulled the brace into alignment. I fabricated a reinforcement collar from 1/4 inch plate, fitted it around the connection and welded it on both sides. I added two triangular gussets between the brace and main pole to reduce movement. After everything cooled, I tested the hoop with repeated shots and checked the joint again. The backboard stays much steadier now and the repaired section isn't moving. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The fl**ge on an old industrial pipe assembly had developed a small crack around one of the outer mounting areas. Instead of replacing the entire section, I removed the damaged surface, cleaned the steel thoroughly and fabricated a reinforcement ring from 3/8 inch plate. I fitted the ring around the fl**ge without interfering with the bolt holes, beveled the joint and welded it in several controlled passes. After cooling, I checked the fl**ge face to make sure it remained flat and the bolt pattern stayed perfectly aligned. The reinforcement gives the assembly much more support while keeping the original connection usable. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

The legs on an old steel workshop chair had started spreading apart, and the seat rocked every time I sat down. I stripped the damaged joints, squared the frame and fabricated two new cross braces from 1 inch square tubing. I fitted the braces between the front and rear legs, tack welded everything while the chair was clamped level, then ran full welds around each joint. I also added small triangular gussets underneath the seat frame to stop it from twisting. After checking all four legs on a flat floor, the chair sat level and felt completely rigid. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

My spare tire was taking up valuable space in the truck bed and sliding around whenever I took a sharp turn. I built a vertical spare tire carrier from 2 inch square tubing and 1/4 inch plate. I welded a heavy base plate to the bed frame, added an upright support, and fabricated a wheel mounting plate with threaded studs. Two diagonal gussets reinforce the upright, and a locking pin keeps the tire from moving. The spare now stands securely against the side of the bed, leaving the rest of the space open for tools and equipment. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

My welding rods were stored in open containers where shop moisture and dust could get to them. I built a compact steel storage cabinet from sheet metal and angle iron. I welded a rectangular frame, fitted divided compartments inside for different rod sizes, and added a tight-fitting front door with a latch. I welded a small handle onto the door and added a wall mounting plate to keep the cabinet off the bench. Each compartment is labeled so I can find the right rods quickly. Now the rods stay organized and protected instead of getting mixed together around the shop. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

I wanted a hammock beside the workshop, but there weren't two trees in the right place to hang one. I built a freestanding stand from 2 inch square steel tubing instead. I welded two wide base sections, added angled upright supports at both ends, and connected everything with a long center beam. I welded heavy mounting tabs at the top of each support and reinforced the joints with large triangular gussets. After hanging the hammock, I loaded it up and checked every joint for movement. The frame stayed rigid and the hammock sat perfectly level. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.

I was tired of turning my bicycle upside down every time I needed to fix the chain or adjust the brakes. I built a proper repair stand from 1 inch square steel tubing. I welded a wide four-leg base, added a vertical post, and fabricated an adjustable arm from round tubing. At the end of the arm, I welded a padded clamp that holds the bicycle frame securely while keeping both wheels off the ground. I added a triangular brace between the post and base so the stand wouldn't flex while I worked. Now I can spin the pedals, adjust the gears, and work at a comfortable height. The final welds were left unpainted and fully visible.
