Mia will contribute articles focusing on many of our young and up and coming Future Is Now Concert Series jazz artists as she discovers the local jazz scene. In her first article, Mia visited to experience Julian Knowles, Devin Daniels, Isaiah Harwood & Tree Keeper, Jon Hatamiya and the USC Thornton Jazz Ensemble. Meet Mia Arevalo -- Mia is a Public Relations and Advertising student at USC who works with the Thornton School Of Music who has a passion music, creativity and storytelling. While still gaining experience, she is eager to learn and grow in areas like brand strategy, digital content, and campaign development. I’m drawn to opportunities that challenge me to expand my skills and think creatively. Our friend and Just Jazz Magazine staff photographer Hal Masonberg recently posted some great photos of Blue Note artist Paul Cornish performing at Festival de Jazz de Barcelona with bassist Jermaine Paul and drummer Jonathan Pinson. All three are Just Jazz Concert Series alums. Pinson, who recently hosted a sold out album release show has been a fixture on the Los Angeles jazz scene.
