It's about time Instagram financially supported its creators.
Since IGTV rolled out in 2018, Instagram has been trying to compete with YouTube for people's attention.
One thing that was missing, though, is the opportunity for creators to monetize their channels. Producing good quality videos takes time and other resources and it has to pay off.
Now that Instagram introduced IGTV ads, creators will be able to benefit from one more stream of income.
The new update will roll out shortly in the US with select creators and different ways of displaying the ads and the ability to skip them will be tested out within next year.
