I'm listening to another fantastic exclusive legacy interview today as it transfers to Pro Tools. Reel #54 will be up in a few days and shared via Patreon.

This upcoming tape starts with an intimate and clear quality interview with John Richard Wilkinson, guitarist and vocalist.

John performed with Chuck Berry, Greenwood County Singers and more than 1,000 shows with Elvis Presley as his rhythm guitarist until Elvis died in 1977. On this tape, wide ranging career and background details emerge, with some highlights including fun stories about performing and life with Elvis. Based on what I'm hearing, this interview took place before Elvis died (circa 1973 as John mentions Elvis is 38 at the time).

I look forward to sharing it with all our supporters.

I am anticipating, with dread, the next section on the tape as it plays—Charlie's on-air recording of the magnitude 6.6 San Fernando earthquake in Los Angeles. I was too young at the time to have memory of it personally, but I knew he spoke of that day often over his career.

Henry Winkler in studio with KHJ DJ Charlie Tuna, was at the height of his popularity as "Fonzie" on "Happy Days". Henry worked right next door to 93/KHJ at Paramount Studios on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood.
