And lest we forget our growing group of DFT New Yorkers!!! These 3 braved the elements to gather together for a Sopranos style steak dinner & drinks - swap stories about VFX and PreViz, working entirely remote since joining the team and their many talents across DFT and beyond.
To those pictured and those who couldnāt make it, even we were a little surprised by him inadvertently big our NYC presence has grown!
Cheers from our Big Apple crew, and may 2023 be filled with peace, joy and innovative post!
Of course home base went hard! DFT LA hosted our very first Murder Mystery!
We rented the back lot, put up an aggressive amount of lights and heat and opened the bar!
This growing team of creative technologists, interdependent and interdisciplinary Swiss Army knives of talent and passionate curiosity is forever and deeply humbling.
While 2022 was a giant season of growth for us, it knitted us ever closer as a team, and the shocking care that came through in the face of every challenge will be remembered for years to come.
Golly are we as smitten with DFT LA as ever.
Happiest of Holidays from Los Angeles!
Another Vancouver VFX veteran joining our team is Michael Davidson! If you need a solid joke or a wicked bioluminescence shot, heās your guy!
Itās been a mere 6mos of DFT Vancouver proper, but my golly has it ever been a feat! With a half dozen Dailies shows and twice as many in VFX, weāre humbled by the welcome and support of this growing team!
Although⦠no one has sent us any welcome Tim Hortonās het, so we may need to rectify that ourselves š¤£
You heard DFT went to Vancouver, right? Well, Mr. Mike Leeming here, our very first VFX Supervisor to come aboard (or aboot!) up there has served across more shows than we can count now! A giant, Louās and long overdue welcome to this hero!!!
Speaking of VFX, welcome Generalist John Huffnagle to the L.A. core!!! Folks, weāve never seen Dylan so excited about an artist. Weāre thrilled to have him, and even more so that he can pop in!
Weāll tell you eventually how we bought a whole new building next door to help house this growing and extroverted VFX team, but⦠thatās a whole other post š
You didnāt think we were done introducing you to this team that just keeps growing, did you?
Meet Andrew Camera! Yes, another VFX Editor on team DFT! If you love those lightning fast turnarounds, heās now a part of why thatās possible! And he expands our growing NY footprint - welcome Andrew!!
Itās Halloween at DFT! Voting has begun and costumes are still rolling in! We have everyone/thing from James T. Kirk & Morbius to a live Covid Test!
Another recent welcome (well, recent to you!) to our growing Online team is Jeremy! Heās also a Colorist (wearing that triple-hat, heās quite the operations/training/documentation wizard as well!) and all around music loving master of media!
Last, but FAR from least, we welcome back THE Manmeet Singh. This dude⦠he IS DFT. He *is* foundational.
No matter the Walkabouts, the wing stretching, the professional growth he achieves outside of these walls, he is and will forever be and have home at DFT.
Manmeet returns as the Sr. VFX Supervisor at DFT and an unrivaled support to our team and clients.
We adore you, sir. We are better for your care and contributions. Welcome back/home š¤
Ladies & Gentlemen⦠big moment for us here at DigitalFilm Tree - our first GeoPost & Dailies Producer! Welcome Jennifer - like a loud and giant welcome as she helps us to structure, scale and support a team that has EXPLODED in the past 2 years.
We were told wasnāt possible, it was nuts or too costly, that LTOs and pulls were the only way to go⦠Well, half a decade later of proving everyone wrong, now is the time. And we could not be more proud or honored to have Jennifer on this team and in our community to help further pace this path forward!
And we promise - Erin is still here! Itās her 9th year! She and Jennifer are building more than you could ever imaging to support your shows better!
Welcome Shane to the VFX Editorial team! He is an absolute genius in Resolve with an insane wealth of knowledge across Editorial, Color, VFX and so much more - in joining our growing team, he is already an invaluable contributor to who we are today and the big plans for our future, both on team VFX and DFT!
Speaking of making a Team work AND *the* Dream work - meet Shahana, our new Finance Manager! She has already revolutionized so much of how we operate and ways to help us better serve our friends and clients, that so much of what powers DFT is about to be all the more and all the better for her years of wisdom and dedication to supporting a growing team and those we empower with our services.
Itās true, DigitalFilm Tree looks a little different today than it did at the beginning of 2022, and *very* different in size than we were in 2019.
We are a Community of Creative Technologists with a common goal - Empowering Storytellers and Democratizing Technology.
This is a team of individual super heroes with the backstories to match, but we all work here in service of much larger and exciting challenges that only a TEAM can solve.

Weāre cool with not being the ācoolā kids - cuz weāre here making the remarkable come to life⦠and have the high honor of loving what we do, for whom we do it, and with people we genuinely enjoy working alongside.
Team work genuinely makes this dream work!
Team is pretty excited about whatās happening in Editorial! Rachel is one of two recent additions to the unsung hero department! What you donāt know about and the wizards could fill the Grand Canyon! These creative technologist brains are hard at work on your pulls, notes, turnovers and file requests while serving our ever growing bench of talented artists!
Speaking of , meet Jared! Our newest artist! Heās been an exceptional and immediate support as this behemoth department continues to grow, and as a member of the ācore team,ā we cannot wait to grow with him and watch his exciting contributions benefit some of your favorite shows!
If you work with DFTās insanely gifted team, youāve probably already met Taylor, but this powerhouse has already revolutionized the department and DFT as a whole - we are insanely grateful to have her on as our super human VFX Coordinator!
Are we really already thinking about ? Yup! And we're *always* thinking about our beloved Prince.
