It was Christmas Day, December 25th, 2025, when I found him. A senior Pomeranian, tied alone to a desolate pole in a quiet park, shivering in the cold winter air. He was silent, yet his eyes held a glimmer of hope, waiting for someone who might never return. I sat with him for over an hour, watching him offer a gentle tail wag to every bundled-up stranger who passed by. As the festive cheer faded into the quiet afternoon and no one came back for him, I knew I couldn’t leave him there on such a day.
At the emergency vet clinic, the atmosphere was grim. No microchip, no collar, no name, no past—just an older dog with a weary spirit and a host of serious, untreated health issues. My heart sank as I voiced my biggest fear: affording his urgent care. The vet, a kind woman with warm eyes, looked at me and said, with a quiet conviction that I’ll never forget:
“You’re trying to save a life someone else discarded on Christmas. Every senior deserves dignity and a chance. We’ll make sure he gets it.”
She chose to waive her fees.
Today, this incredible dog knows what it’s like to be truly warm, safe, and loved. His journey is still unfolding, but he will never face it alone again. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he navigates this new chapter.
I’m still searching for the perfect name for this resilient soul—Buddy, Noel, or Valor. Which do you think captures his spirit best? 💖🎄✨
