🥲We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of serving Police Dog Brutus from Merseyside Police, following complications from recent surgery for an intestinal blockage. PD Brutus joined Merseyside Police in August 2022 and quickly proved himself to be an exceptional asset to the force when he was officially licensed as a general purpose police dog, proudly serving alongside his dedicated handler, Constable Speck.
One of his most notable moments came during the large scale disturbance last summer. Amid the chaos, Brutus stood firm, shielding his handler and safeguarding communities, with bravery that will never be forgotten.
Our thoughts are with everyone at Merseyside Police, and of course, Brutus's handler, Constable Speck, during this difficult time. Thank you for your unwavering loyal service, Brutus. You may now stand down. RIP 🌈🐶💙🚔🇬🇧 🥲
