My dog is very nervous. Help is urgently needed

I really hope you can help me in some way I have a Jack Russell Terrier Dog, male. He is about 4-5 years old, to be honest, I don't remember exactly. I have memory problems When he was a puppy, he was poisoned with tuberculosis pills on the street That's when the problems began. He really has a very good pedigree, so I doubt it's innate He has become very nervous and cannot be taught commands at all We even went to the veterinary clinic There vet said that we need to contact a zoopsychologist. The problem is that my parents don't believe in zoopsychology As an example, I will say that he constantly whines and barks, he reacts to all the dogs when we walk and he does not listen at all. He constantly pulls the leash and because of this it hurts me a lot, and my mother has health problems and it is especially difficult for her to walk the dog( My father does not worry about the dog at all and can hit him (Please do not insult my father, I am very upset by this fact. I think he's so cruel because he's a military man, yes, I know that not all military men are like that) I'm very scared for my dog. My parents planned to buy him an electric collar (which shocks) I talked them out of it for a while, but they thinking about it again Maybe castration will help? Give advice. Has anyone dealt with this problem ?

Advice for quality of life

I have a 7 year old Belgian Malinois who I’ve raised ever since he was a month and a day old. Unfortunately since the end of January he’s been doing very poorly and his energy levels are completely low, he only really gets up to eat (and sometimes I have trouble convincing him to stand) and to go to the bathroom. All his life he’s been an incredibly healthy dog, no injuries, and practically no illnesses.

He’s always been energetic, happy and overall loves to play, however since the end of January he began with a small fissure on his elbow in his right hand, from then on he began limping, barely getting up and just wanting to sleep, barely eating.

I took him to the vet and after we treated him for that he showed little to no improvement even after a month and a half later. Around 3 weeks ago I took him back after a ball-like mass formed now on his left knee. After we did it a biopsy the vet determined that it was most likely osteosarcoma.

Even with pain medication and all, he’s not getting better in terms of energy, the only thing is that he’s eating better now. He sleeps all day still, only gets up to drink water or use the bathroom. When he stands it looks like he’s in pain because he often times doesn’t want to get up and it’s like he hesitates to even stand. When he does stand or walk, he bumps into things or sometimes has trouble keeping himself up, even struggles to walk straight sometimes.

I really don’t know what to do here. I don’t want to see him suffer. I’ve raised this dog from a very small puppy and it pains me to see him like this. I’ve been seriously considering humane euthanasia at this point, but I don’t want to be extreme, yet at the same time I don’t want him to live in more pain.

Any idea why my dog’s ear became this?😭

Caesar is a 3 yo American Staffordshire terrier, neutered.

Caesar has had standing ears since little, but on Sunday, my mom called me and said his right ear started being like this after my dad patted his head.

FYI, “patted” is the word my dad used. No one saw what happened (I’m not saying my dad hurt Caesar on purpose. He loves this goofy boy, he just always pats him hard).

I thought it was nothing, and I came home today and noticed his right ear still not standing. And he seems uncomfortable about his own ear, shaking his head a lot more frequently.

Also, this morning my dad tried to pat his head again, and he screamed a little, standing instantly and walking away a little bit until he realized there's nothing happened.

I thought his ear was in pain, but I touched and even rubbed his ear and he's totally fine with that, staying in the spot and didn't try to leave me.

I was wondering has anyone met this situation before?do I just give him time to recover or he needs medical attention?

My Dog Passed Away

I know this isn’t necessarily dog advice, but my 3 year old baby-my soul dog just passed away on Wednesday and I am just absolutely devastated. He was diagnosed with Addison’s disease, but woke up Wednesday having seizures. The vet was 98 percent sure he had a brain tumor that appeared fast and aggressive that that’s what caused his Addison’s to surface. I just do not know how to cope. Coming home to a house where he is not waiting for me, sleeping in the bed where he’s not pressed right up against me, and doing anything without him is just unfathomable. I think about him all day. I know time heals, but I just do not understand how to go about my daily life. I need advice, words of encouragement, or prayers, please. I am just so so heartbroken.

At a loss with my new shelter pup

So I moved to a new place and got a house with a backyard n stuff, figured now was a good time to get myself a rescue. I’ve had dogs my whole life but almost always Labs who were always friendly if not goofy.

Then there’s midnight, my 2-3 yr old German Shepard/Pitbull mix I got from the humane society. I was able to talk to someone from animal control who told me she was on the street for some time before getting to the shelter. She’s quite shy at first but she’s gotten better now, but what I am worried about is her behavior at the dog parks.

It seems she can get overwhelmed with more than 2 dogs around and sometimes gets defensive when a dog sniffs her or gets too close to her toys. The toys aren’t so much of an issue as I can usually keep her away from them and it seems she’s less of a resource guarder now, but she does still have the occasional nip or fight.

I plan on getting her a muzzle later today to do some introductions in a controlled environment and hopefully desensitize her to new dogs, but I figured I’d give this a try as well, being that a dog like her is newer to me

Some things I’d like to point out:

- I’m certainly not ever going to give up on her, and I have been able to get her the exercise she needs even if the parks are full

- she really likes intact males, took me some time to figure that out. She got fixed when I got her ~ 5 months ago

- she’s more defense towards men than women, but less so now. I am a male to be clear and she isn’t aggressive towards me at all.

- she’s a sweetheart at home and I love her to death, I just want what’s best for her

Is my dog just fat or is it bloat?

My dog is a boxer, around 8 years old. I only noticed this pretty recently, and my parents are dismissing my concern . His stomach is firm but I can still apply pressure and it’ll be a little squishy. Is this something to worry about? I don’t watch him p**p or eat. Should I watch over him before I assume anything? He is NOT SHOWING SIGNS OF PAIN!!

Help!! Adopted dog attacked a puppy

I adopted a dog 3 weeks ago. She is 5 years old , 71 lbs and mixed breed. She has been fine and gets along well with my 3 year old labradoodle and 11 year old cavalier. She has a high “hunt” mentality and searches for lizards and squirrels in the yard. Yesterday, my neighbor had her daughter’s 9 week old puppy over. The neighbor picked the dog up to show me and my dog jumped the fence. The puppy squealed and my dog grabbed the puppy out of her hands, shook it and jumped back over into my yard (I was fence jumping after her immediately as well). My dog has a soft mouth and there were no puncture wounds or broken bones, the puppy has bruised lungs and is recovering at the vet (I’m paying for all of it obviously). My husband doesn’t like the liability of our new dog potentially doing this again in the future, as we saw no signs of aggression towards dogs before and wants us to rehome her. My question is: is this something I can train out of her? If so, I’m 1000% willing to pay to build a taller fence and put in the work. I don’t want to give her up.

Anxiety Beyond Help

This is my girl Cinder. I rescued her as a stray a little over 2 years ago. She is about 7 years old now, spayed, and physically healthy.

However, we have a huge problem. Anxiety. Everything from separation anxiety to anxiousness over anything new. We have tried training, OTC meds, about 6 different prescription meds including Va**um, and just about any other comfort measure you can think of.

When I am gone, she paces and howls constantly. We have captured this with our in home camera. When I am home, I cannot even go to the bathroom without her whining at the door. Going outside produces pure panic.

She also wants to eat constantly. We have another dog we try to feed separately, but sometimes the door gets left open or he doesn’t eat it all and she will devour it. This results in p**p accidents in the house due to the over eating.

In the past few months, she has started to become aggressive. She has snapped at my husband multiple times, bullies our other dog so much that he wants to hide from her, and she has now snapped at my 5 year old son for absolutely no reason.

She barks at every single noise. Visitors cause he to absolutely lose her mind.

She also has started marking with urine in the house so she has to wear a diaper now.

It’s clear she is miserable from her behavior, and she is in turn making the whole house miserable.

I want to help her so bad. I love her dearly, but I’m out of ideas and so is our vet.

Do you think trying to find her a new home would be the best option? Someone without other pets and children, that’s home a lot? Or are there maybe other options I haven’t thought about.

Behavioral euthanasia is my last ditch option but I absolutely want to try everything else possible before resorting to that, hence why I posted here.

Please help. I love my girl and only want the best for her.

My dog bit another dog at daycare

this is my 5 year old beagle Scarlett. I work hybrid (well recently got a new job and will be remote…so I guess this situation came at the “right” time) and sometimes would take her to an in-home daycare in our neighborhood.

The daycare is owned by a nice older couple. We found them on rover, and after the first visit they offered to go off app and Scarlett has been to their place plenty of times in the last few months. She even stayed a week when we went out of town last month.

Yesterday, Scarlett went to daycare around 11 am - 5:15 pm. My husband picked her up, and everything was fine.

Today, around 10 am, the daycare owner, Sandra sends me a text asking to call her. She lets me know that Scarlett got into a “tiff” with another dog yesterday, named Murphy over food. She said that after the tiff, everyone seemed fine. She stated that Murphy seemed a bit passive, but figured it was because Scarlett won the argument.

She says that this morning, Murphy is feeling unwell and not allowing anyone to touch him. She sees that there’s a bite mark on his back. And she says that it is most likely from the “tiff” with Scarlett.

She asks me if Scarlett is up to date on vaccinations I say yes of course. And then she makes a comment that she’s noticed Scarlett has some food aggression/guarding tendencies.

Of course in the heat of the moment, I’m in shocked. I know every owner says this, but Scarlett really is a sweet pup and has played with many other dogs of all ages, shapes, and sizes and I’ve never sensed this from her. She does have some leash reactivity, which has been worked on with a trainer. This is my first pet ever, so there’s a lot of thoughts going on in my head.

I apologized to the daycare owner, and really hope Murphy is okay. But I have so many thoughts/feelings.

Regarding the food aggression/guarding, if she noticed it before, why wouldn’t she tell us? We have no way of knowing she’s like that with other dogs since she’s our only pet. She also is not aggressive with humans regarding food, even if it’s her most favorite treats.

I’m not sure how to take all of this or what the next steps are.

I’m thinking that an in-home daycare may not be good for her. However, I was open to it because my MIL ran one herself for years. Waiting for her to get off work so I can hear her perspective as well.
